Agreed. You really don't need to risk your bank account like that!

Oh, I will. I thought I might be on the safer side when this first started because I didn't order anything till almost a full day after the store went live again. Also at the time I had to go house sit for my aunt in an area that has no bank of america close. So, it wasn't going to work out. Just got back home the other day. I'll hopefully be going to the bank tomorrow for a temp card.

I'm really surprised people are trying to find ways to renew with these jokers. They lost me as a customer forever. I'm not saying anybody's wrong for doing it. I'm just a little surprised.

Those prepaid cards sound so sweet. Sadly when they tried to bring that over here, local banks rallied against it because it'd take their card profits away.

At least I always use those one-time virtual cards. It's much safer and convenient.

I already spent the money on the first figure, I at least want to finish the set if nothing else. They will have to come up with something pretty amazing to get me to buy exclusives next year though. We shall see.

I'd go to the nearest ATM immediately and take out as much cash as it will allow.

    Swindle did it. XD

But all joking aside, I am glad I did not sign up this year and do not have to worry about this myself. My heart goes out to all of you who are dealing with this, I know it's no fun.

I hope Hasbro is able to work with the other people and get htings solved and everything fixed and made right.

And this just makes me glad I got the free (at least for business members aka eBay sellers) Paypal debit card. Looks like I'll be using it for anything TF related for the future.

Just cancelled my credit card. There was a suspicious charge on my account but it didn't seem to match the same MO as the problems others were having; it was a single $20 charge that I didn't remember making, and when I googled the name of the company the money was sent to, it was connected to stolen credit card numbers. I bought my Overrun after the meltdown - but I did start my membership in December so the number could have been comprimised then.

And don't feel too safe with Paypal - Just yesterday someone somehow got into my account and kept sending himself $20 payments until Paypal's automated security stopped him. Bastard got $180, but fortunately the Paypal rep said the funds are held and will not be deposited to his account. When I talked to my bank representative, she said that a lot of Paypal accounts have been hit recently.

Yeah, I'm having NO luck at all with finances the last few days.

The paypal debit card can be hit just like a regular bank card. The only way to feel safer with it is to keep the account empty until you need to purchase something.

So glad I didn't renew and buy the '12 exclusives last month. Spent the money elsewhere with no regrets. :)

    Exactly!

Indeed people who claim Paypal is safer are just ignorant of the fact it isn't.

This is also a good idea...
