Agreed. This is the email we've all been wanting to read for weeks now.

I appreciate the club finally owning up to the fact that there is a problem. I just wish they'd actually come out and said they were looking into it a couple weeks back.

To clarify. We have NOT found a breach. All we know at this time is there is some type of security issue. We are continuing to work with several parties to find out where the security issue is. But that issue can be one of a few things and we still do not know where it originated...

Agreed. I'm glad that they've owned up to the fact that it is their problem.

    This is much appreciated.

Though in the future, we'd all appreciate it more if we got a warning that there might be problems at the first sign of trouble, rather than a general "credit card security" info link.

Same. Hell, if they'd just come out and admitted that the leak could have possibly come from them, then that would have appeased me, too. It was all the silence and beating around the bush that was making me angry.

    Exactly. Same here.

Contrast this with Valve, when they got compromised back in Dec. They knew pretty much squat about what had been stolen, but issued a warning anyway just in case credit card numbers had been compromised and changed all the passwords.

I didn't sign up till after the melt down and I haven't had any fraudulent charges, should I still get my card replaced?

i can kind of get why they didnt out right say it to begin with but they did try to push it away and say that there was no way it was them.

i think to make things right they should offer some sort of discount for those all affected or mail out one to all members. i know that could be a lot but CC info fraud is no joke.

    About FUCKIN' time!
Even an apology! I'm still upset it took them this long but I might renew when the time comes (hey I NEED my classics styled bots and every printed piece of official Transformers fiction there is, it is a nasty habit I just can't kick).

Also I got the shipping notice for my Runabout (Over-Run whatever) and Drift today! :D

There's people who only used the cards post-meltdown with problems. Not sure.

The sad fact is that, at this point in the game, there is going to be very little that they can do to appease their purchasers who have been hit by this. It's an old phrase and I've already seen it posted many times in this thread, but... too little, too late.

"After many days of analysis, Fun Publications has determined that there is a security issue with our e-commerce systems." To be filed under: NO SHIT!

That'd be the safe bet, especially given the wide range of people affected. I mean, I doubt your bank or credit card company will complain because if you think about it, doing something ahead of time will possible be saving them money.

I ultimately wanted two things from the Club in this situation:

    1) A push by FunPub to improve their business practices as a whole.
    2) An apology.

    Finally.

Just curious on how long the store will be down for. I haven't renewed my membership just yet and its due in march 15 (I think). Hopefully it is back up before my chance to grab this years free figure expires.
