The deadline is still the 16th and will not change according to Pete. Razor24 called and was able to get them to take a pre-paid card number but had to send the number in 3 parts in 3 e-mails. If you are an international member you may be able to do that but I know calling will be expensive and inconvenient. I would not give them a regular CC# at this point even if you can take that route. It would also be wise to register any pre-paid card online .

The best think to do is e-mail Pete to see what your options are. At this point I would say a check or money order is out of the question.

I reluctantly mailed off my money orders for mine and my stepson's memberships today. They got me this year with the Runs... but next year, I don't think I'll be renewing unless an act of Congress takes place. Didn't wanna risk outrageous prices on the aftermarket.

today was the recommended mail in date to get it there on time... if you send it tomorrow, you may wanna spend a few extra bucks and mail it priority mail... that's what i did, so that i can track it and make sure it arrives on time...

or, they still want the toys, and then next year will not join if they aren't happy? for some people, all this hassle isn't worth it if you just get rid of the toys... and maybe by waiting to see if they get fraud charges, then they can report that to FP, as FP has asked?

nope, better get it in the mail, but most likely it's too late, since it needs to be there by next friday... unless you ship it faster...

also, like i said, if any international friends need help, i will try to buy a few extra Runamucks for you when they're available so that I can mail them off...

Thanks! I'll see if I can get something similar worked out.

Well, I'd definitely be on board for that if you're willing. I'll of course see what I can do about this 16th deadline first, though, as I imagine a lot of people will be taking you up on that offer.

If people are waiting to get fraud charges to report/help Funpub as you suggest, then they are even dumber than just plain ole' apathetic dumb...

I got hit with the Google 1 dollar charge today, Chase froze the account, and I have a new card coming. My Over-run order number was in the 7000's so I'm guessing that they are just going down the line and using every account. So if you haven't closed your account yet, do it now.

Yeah, a lot of us didn't bitch at funfub for what 2 weeks to get them to send an e-mail alert so people could take care of this before they got hit just so they could sit around and wait. How ridiculous is that?

There might be some truth to that. I was one of the first to get an order in, and the unauthorized charges on that card showed up that first week we started seeing the reports pop up.

I don't know. I renewed in December, and got my Over-run order in early on Wednesday, when they first came up. I never got hit, and just got around to cancelling my card on Tuesday.

So I just got my Over-run in the mail today, but am going to miss out on Runamuck because I can't renew my damn membership due to dealing with the fraudulent charges on my bank account for the past week and a half, and I can't mail out a damn check! So for the record I got the rarer of the two figures and end up getting burned for $500 on my bank accounts, and am now going to miss out on the other exclusive even though the whole damn point was to obtain both in the first place. I realize there is some kind of cruel irony hidden in all this. I just can't accept it yet.

That is, unless Fun Pub miraculously activates it's websites ability to take electronic payments before the 16th. But then, wouldn't it be "funny" if all this happen again, just to screw with us.

Just let it pass and accept the fact that proving a point takes sacrifice. If enough of us went without Runamuck, they would listen. Until then, they will continue the cycle. It's all about logistics.

because of the nice technicals issues with bank fraud..they take forever (weeks or more) to investigate fraud charges and to reverse or cancel them at times...you have to contact the bank...then they send you paperwork that you have to fill out and return indicating which are fraud charges. etc

or, as i've said numerous times, if FP down the line says "hey, everyone who got hit with fraud and emailed us, here's X in return" if you didn't get hit and didn't email them, you won't get X...

my bank took care of that no questions asked...

At this point, there is nothing they can give me that would make a difference.
But feel free to wait around for their hand out while they continue to offer sub-par service and security to it's 'valued' members.

I may be reading this wrong, but it sounds like you're suggesting people report fraud even if they haven't experienced yet.

Some credit card companies make you jump through hoops to reissue a card, so waiting until there is fraud sometimes makes it easier. As soon as I had the fraud charges I received an email and reported it as fraud and the card is now cancelled. In the end it took 30 seconds. You should maybe be a little less judgemental in your posts as you don't necessarily know everyones situation and why they are handling things the way they are.

If your bank hassles you about getting a card reissued, change banks. My bank contacted ME and said "we think you may have been exposed to fraud, we're sending you a new card." I didn't even have the option to say "no thanks." This wasn't some fancy credit card with super fraud protection either, just a citibank debit card. I never saw any suspicious charges whatsoever.

Got a call today from my card company, my card have been hit, so I'm getting a new one.

I really hope I don't like the toys next year, I've been hit with the TFsource event last time (I saw somwhere that someone hinted that maybe the TFsource event was instead a leak from the club, wich could be a possibility), and now with this one.

At least there's no problem with replacing the card, but I don't want it to become a yearly event!

Yea, with the CC company, it is no problem after you are hit, and mine has contacted me in the past when I have been hit. But (somewhat understandibly), my CC company did not want to pre-emptively cancel my card. The CS rep made it sound like a lot of people call after just about every online purchase they make and request a new card. I decided to go down to a physical branch with the club emails in hand and they hooked it up. But I can understand them not wanting to cancel it without some proof like that with all the paranoid people in this world. In this case, there was good reason though.
