As long as people are still vocal about this then the thread won't die.

I'm wondering if the clubs FB page or Twitter account will be updated with any relevant information as time progresses.

Yeah.. Can't say I understand using twitter and facebook over email. Especially since every order gets an email sent to them confirming the order..
I don't know if you NEED the email to check out (and i'm not buying something just to find out).
But it would seem that hitting up each person where confirmation emails were sent would make more sense than assuming someone uses twitter or facebook.

I have twitter, and rarely use it only to communicate with a select few.
Facebook I use more often but is often filled with other posts from people that I don't care much about and even if I was part of the TFCC group on facebook doesn't garuntee I would have seen the message.

I just called my CC company and told them, I did my preorder after the switch and I have 2 pending charges for 2/6 & 2/7 each for a $1.00 from a company called SCAN NEW YORK.

The fraud department is looking into it, if they get back to me with any info I will post again.

that does me no good since i dont have a facebook or twitter account. I'm sure that i am not the only one in the world that doesnt use facebook and twitter but does use this site and similar forums.

would it not have been sensible to post on sites that deal specifically with transformers that a potenial problem exists with customers that have recently purchased items on a site The Transformers Collector's Club.

It srikes me as either stupid or inconsiderate that these credit cards issues have been brought to the attention of funpub already and yet from what i've read of previous posts that funpub have only now addmitted there is a problem.

I understand that this isnt personally your fault Pete, but it sure as hell is someone's at funpub for not coming forward sooner with this information.

I'm glad to be a member of the collector's club but this poorly managed situation will lose you customers, whether i'm goin to be one remains to be seen. I still havent renewed my membership and i'm unsure if i will.

Using FB and twitter to pass on information is a POOR choice in this matter.

Instead of sending out emails directly to the affected - why exactly?

I don't use either of those. Lots of people don't. EVERYBODY has email.

Same here, within an hour of my purchase when the the initial preorders opened I was hit for a $1 "test" charge by SCAN NEWYORK. The next day I got hit with another $1.08 charge from REDBOXDVDRESERVATIONS.

My card just called me and I had a similar charge as well. Now my card is cancelled, which is the same one I use for my MOTUC Club Eternia Subscription and Club Lion Force Subscription. So now I will have not only to deal with this screw up, I will most likely have to deal with Digital Rivers Customer (Dis)Service!!!

Pete, can you answer this question for me (us): what is the benefit of waiting for us to contact you rather than sending out a mass email warning to your customers? Obviously I know it'll help if individual customers contact the Club, but why is the Club waiting to warn their customers regardless of if you think the stolen information could have come from somewhere else?

I still can't tell if most of these are pre- or post-CC vendor change?

I'd also like to know what exactly they are going to do for the people who contact them with CC fraud complaints. What CAN they do? Unless they plan on giving out freebees or discounts to the inconvenienced (yeah right), what point is there in contacting the club? Sounds like they aren't even responding to the complaints they DO get.

I can understand and forgive the club for being involved in something like this, but I cannot understand or forgive them for not fessing up to it in any real way (real way being a warning email to all members). Twitter and facebook are a pathetic way to spread the news of something so serious. Spreading it by twitter and facebook alone sounds like a good way to make sure a lot of people never hear about it - which is starting to sound like that's exactly what they prefer.

I have also had a mysterious 1$ charge from Google. However the card it's on is the one that I thought about using, but due to texting to check funds decided to use another. So I didn't even have a processed order with that card, though as I don't use the affected card that often/ not at all and the club was the only thing in the past 2 months I don't know what else it could be.

Regardless if you used your card after the change or not, if the card that was used was ALSO used for club business before the change took place (renewing membership, etc), then it was likely compromised.

If you used the card after the vendor switch took place, AND that was the first time you have ever used the card at TFCC, then you are likely safe.
