Looking at the blast off arm, you're totally right. You can see where the joint is supposed to swivel up and click in. It should cover the exposed purple robot limbs. This is just another example of wonky stock photos.

 

Oh.

I guess that means the FP sets aren't going down in price...

 

If every thing was just as it is, but Onslaught was a Voyager I think all the aesthetic quirks would be resolved.

Still think it's cool. Plus I'm a fan of PCC so this looks like a nice evolution.

 

I hope it turns out a bit smoother than this, I still want it.

His arms look kind of strange. I hope they are mistransformed. I also kinda wish they made onslaught a voyager. It would help fill out the torso a bit more and probably give him better proportions.

All and all though, I think he looks decent. And its nice that we are getting a real combiner. I think FP bruticus wins, but at least I'll be able to afford this one.

I bet a lot of people are gonna change their tune on this figure now that more pictures are out.

Also, I wonder if that gun is a combination of all the smaller ones. I also wonder if it can be placed on his back to resemble his back cannons.

 

Boy I hope that's some awkward perspective in the photo that's making the arms look so huge and the torso so tiny. If not, that's a bummer.

What's bugging me the most, though, is Vortex's colors. Since when was he gold and red?

 

I'll still buy it. But I think I may have gotten my hopes up too much.

Damn decent for something that will probably cost somewhere in the range of a single Fansproject limb.

Onslaught reminds me of a Powercore Commander whose name I can't remember.

 

I'm comparing the toy to the CGI render and if it wasn't for the gaps (minus Swindle) and whatever is happening with Blast Offs elbow, this thing would be AWESOME.

 

I think the angle of the figure may be making it look more "off" than it actually is. But once again,I must mention my hope that the arms are mistransformed.

 

WOW, that is... most certainly mistransformed.

I'll repeat a great comment from Vangelus on Twitter: "These product photographers haven't had to figure out a larger combining Transformer in like 10 years, I'm surprised the limbs are attached."

That looks.....not so good.

 

I feel like Brawl can do some more transforming as a leg. I think a flap folds up over his knee. As well, Blast Off looks to have an elbow rotation from the waist joint, so that's good.

I'm just confused by Vortex's colors.

 

Cybertronian modes don't appeal to me, so I was only mildy curious... but that full combined picture looks as bad as the Energon version. So sad.
