Stepper is fucking gorgeous!

 

Stepper could be the next Strafe, or he could be the next Wildrider. Right now it's too early to say, but black exclusives tend to sell faster, generally.

 

If he ends up being the next Wildrider then $100-$130 is a huge bargain right now.

Wish I had the $$$ to get it.

 

Black is gold, or so judging by the black repaint trends which have happened.
I'd personally would feel like a missed opportunity and remorse if it went the way of Henkei Wildrider. that would be quite a kick in the teeth.

I am guessing that the production number of Stepper is going to be much more than the Wildrider. I doubt we would come close to another Wildrider with this in pricing. At the same time, I think Stepper is going to do much better than Strafe, Mirage and Ghost Starscream. Its a character that actually makes sense as the repaint and boy does he look pretty. The other Japanese exclusives were a little forced and had no G1 precedence (sans GSS but that mold is way saturated and CHMS versions didn't help).

 

NO!! Not an exclusive please! Lets hope he gets a regular release.

 

Wow that thing is nice! It's just too much for me right now with Hercules pulling at my wallet.

 

Of course i hope that it will end up like Strafe so that i can get it at cheaper price but for this piece,it may eventually end up to be the next Wildrider.

If the Tokyo Toy show two pack was produced in less quantities than the Million Pub one, then it'd be a great barometer as far as repaints go. They're black, based on existing paint schemes, and aren't ramping up in price very fast. Time will tell, but I don't think I'll be waiting very long to pick this up.




Chronicles EZ Skywarp and Bluestreak on the other hand? Ugh.

 

The people who are comparing United Stepper to Commemorative Series Ricochet are cracking me the hell up: of course Ricochet wasn't in demand, it was a G1 toy while we were getting Energon and later Cybertron, G1 toys looks like unposeable crap by comparison to many. Meanwhile, Classics and Universe toys go for a premium only 5 years and 3 years after their initial release.

Suffice to say, unless Hasbro has their own Ricochet planned from Jazz (highly doubtful) there's no way this exclusive is going to be cheaper: it's a slavish update of a toy that was up until a few years ago hotly demanded. Its value is only going to go up from here, and if you don't believe that, you're only fooling yourself.

 

Once again, there have been a couple Exclusive Classics releases that have dropped in value. So your theory is unsound. Also unsound is how a "brick" reissue of G1 Hot Rod could sell out for almost six months straight when there were Energon on the shelf. The market isn't predictable, but I'm willing to wager that not everyone wants a Stepper/Ricochet in their collection.

 

These things may not see clearance, but all I know is there are currently a fair number available for pre-order at a popular online store...and that number had been growing the past month or so (aka canceled pre-orders.) Now whether they'll start flying off the virtual shelf once it's in stock...maybe it will, maybe it won't.

 

One has to remember that Richochet/Stepper was released as an exclusive Japan -only toy in the original G1 era (which, by the ay still costs waaaayy too much for an MISB/MIB specimen), hence it's supposedly 'exclusive' title used as a yardstick of sorts for this Generations/ United version.

Really? I take it you are not a business major? They WILL reuse that 200-400K mold they bought. Just call the guess from experience......

 

They WILL reuse the mold but in what capacity?

Will it be Ricochet/Stepper or will they do one of their patented remold/retools? (Wheeljack/Tracks, Drift/Blurr, Darkmount/Skullgrin, Thunderwing/Sky Shadow, Wreckgar/Junkheap)

I'm putting my $$$ on Ricochet/Stepper NOT being released in the states and the Jazz mold receiving the same treatment that the others already have.
