It's a shame that such an awesome Figure ended up being such an expensive exclusive.

Am I the only one who thinks the Japanese really need to invent the letter "L" If only so you don't have to say "Foggy Rondon Town"

But that said 'Neburon' is not such a bad name it sounds like Ronald Mc Donald in a Nebula... (I have the sudden image in my mind of Ronald McDonald suspended over a Black Holes event horizon trying to harvest Nucleon now. a sort of Nucleon Quest Ronald Mc Donald. and the Targetmaster is his Gravity Armour is the like Nucleon Quest Ginrai had.

Boy I'll say. Stepper is one of those Transformers where if your a Fan than you really win out. Personally I only saw him when the craze started so he doesn't hold a special place in my heart, but MAN he is sexy!

Screw the book. Who reads Japanese anyways to be able to order from the book ? Im not saying the price explanation isnt true. Im just saying the whole mail in offer was done in poor taste. Unless of course, it was designed specifically to cater to Japanese fans only. Now we can only hope that BBTS,TF Source, etc. bought in bulk at a discounted price and overestimated the demand. Then maybe it will hit clearance as many exclusives do a few months later. Or even better yet, I hope CHMS gets hold of a Stepper and does their thing.

And if the economy over here hadn't tanked and ruined our lovely exchange rates with japan, it would be a lot cheaper here, too. :D

Well...I *am* Evil Dealer Scum...now where's my collection of super-rare mondo-expensive toys? I need to grind one up and snort it for a fix... :D

Well, yes, it WAS designed specifically to cater to Japanese fans. This was done between Japanese companies as a promotional product. They probably know there's a market for their exclusives in other countries, but they don't do these figures with any regard for the export possibilities.

And no, any retailer offering this, just like me, did not get it at a discount. They paid every penny of the full retail cost of the book, figure, and domestic in-Japan shipping just like a Japanese customer who wanted this did. And on top of that, they had to pay someone in Japan to act as their agent to purchase the books and send in all the order forms to obtain the figures, and then ship them to the US as well. There is no wholesale on Japanese store/magazine exclusives.

I'm in no rush. It's a gorgeous piece, and I loves me some Targetmasters, but patience netted me a $30 Henkei Strafe, I'll just bide my time on this.

Henkei Strafe was a joke compared to Stepper. Strafe was unloved because the colors were off, it was a repaint of a very Decepticon specific mold and, let's be honest, Strafe is useless without the rest of the Technobots. Stepper, on the other hand, is an outstanding repaint of a very rare (reissues excluded) Japanese only recolor of Jazz. And since this exclusive also uses the Generations/Henkei Jazz mold, its more desireable since the homage makes sense.

Ricochet shelfwarmed in the US. I got one for $10 on clearance at TRU in Ft. Wayne when the reissues were out. I honestly don't think it's as sought after as you think it is.

That Stepper is a thing of beauty... even still, I could never justify him at that price. I hope someday we get a cheaper western release.

I dunno if this figure will wind up like Strafe. To be honest, Strafe kind of looked like crap.
