Hahaha... That's the spirit! I'm totally buying this too. I guess I'll have to sell off the Headmasters set I already bought.

This will be great. MF and Victory are really good (much better than Headmasters) and it'll be great to have good DVDs of them. Hopefully there are fewer mistakes and typos this time.

Did we ever get a confirmation of if they'll be using all Japanese names for this? These two shows are quite self-contained, there's no reason to use US names like there was in Headmasters. I don't really mind either way as long as they don't call Minerva Nightbeat.

 

No idea. The last news I ever saw about it was that they found some better source material when they cancelled the last pre-orders. And yeah, it'd be nice if they kept everything "japanese" considering it's the japanese collection.

For Masterforce and Victory, they had better be using Japanese names... It's not like in Headmasters where it's supposed to be the same character..

There was, but they were supposed to originally get the collection out first. I assume they'll probably do individual releases of masterforce and victory later. I held off on just ordering headmasters because I wanted them all anyway(and the lithograph is neat I guess).

 

Cool. I'm not sure whether to double-dip on Headmasters by buying this set, or wait for the individual series sets (and hope they happen). I'm not really a huge fan of the Japanese TF series or their continuity, but they are kind of interesting as their own thing and it's nice when this kind of stuff can get a legit domestic release. So I kind of feel like supporting it.

Unlike Headmasters, the episode titles for Masterforce and Victory have Japanese names so we should be good on them using the proper names.

 

soooo i assume these will be in original Japanese language with subtitles? and of course the option of an English dubbed version as well?

 

Hopefully the delays included fixing the subs. "I'm a phase six Decepticon!"

 

No dub, just subtitles.

Dubbing costs money that Shout doesn't have.

Is this the new release date for Masterforce separately as well?

 

This is all that matters to me, My Little Pony, Trasformers Prime, Dan vs. (?), and GI Joe Renegades can wait since they have not confirmed anything about a season box set (sorry if I offended those who wanted those season sets.)

Totally preordered. I'd been looking forward to getting this since I got the BW shout factory set.

 

Anyone know what the video quality will be like? Same as Madman releases, or is it getting a real clean-up job this?
