If they did do this an an Encore release, the price of the voice chips wouldn't be an issue considering how cheap microchips/electronics can be today. However, I'm sure something as simple as a drop test would prevent this from seeing the light of day.

What would they make it from? Mold wise. Can they use one of the prototypes?

Drop test? oh yeah... Fort Max Car Robots anyone? Yet, companies can makes these small cheap a$$ Sonic figures or Pokemon figs and what not, drop them 10 feet and they completely fall apart and have even smaller parts... I don't get it. Great interview find!

Just giving this a little nudge ...

In light of Encore Fort Max and the upcoming Metroplex, HasTak is showing us a willingness to go big. Anyone think a G1 Unicron is more of a possibility now? It's one of my grails.

I'd be more interested in someone releasing 100% translated versions of these awesome Generation magazines. And with full-sized images of the early paperwork and unreleased sketches. **sigh, what a dream.

I don't see it happening. I think the Amazon Unicron fills the G1 Unicron void in most people's collections. HasTak would be spending a lot of development money for something they couldn't be sure many people would feel the need to buy.

I'm not sure it's development money so much as it is money making the molds. I assume they can scan the prototype.

There is no way I would buy that thing, compared to today's figures it pales. The Armada figure to me is what I wanted in a Unicron figure way back then. If I expected a really cool figure, that brick prototype wouldn't have made me happy

I'm not really interested all that much in the G1 Unicron toy....

However, the cassette tape that Takara apparently has in their possession containing lines recorded by Orson Welles exclusively for this toy, and not for in the movie, is another matter entirely!
