How is not producing a Scourge out of RTS Prime a "smart" thing for Fun Pub to do? It's an obvious choice. The character has a strong fan base, but it's obscure enough that there's not a lot of chance Hasbro will do it at retail.

(And if they'd did, they'd likely call it Nemesis Prime instead, missing the obvious chance at the proper RiD homage)

oh this is gonan be absolutely delicious i could jsut see scourge as optimus prime himself while optimus and magnus/omega prime are off world in another dimension during the whole unicron black hole matter from the unicron trilogy /balancing act storyline

 

Well, there's the eHobby Laser Ultra Magnus deco that's been mentioned, and also the G2 Combat Hero Optimus Prime deco (didn't someone around here have a photoshopped version of that and RiD Scourge as their signature). I'm good with either deco if that's one of the exclusives for next year.

Oh God, of they make Scourge a Botcon exclusive and not a simple mainline repaint, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-because the forums will erupt in complete chaos.

But given the blue eye, it'll probably be G2 Laser Ultra Magnus. Hopefully.

 

My initial reaction is SCOURGE, but the blue optic wouldn't make sense for him. Though the only other bot that comes to mind that would make sense as a repaint of that mold, is Ultra Magnus.

If next years set does turn out to be RID themed, I hope we know early enough for me to save-up enough for a set (I might just start putting back some extra cash now just in-case). Assuming it turns out to be RID-themed, I really wish they would have not done Sky-Byte already, as that would have been epic in a full-on RID set.

Ultimately I hope it isn't a RID set, as I would rather Hasbro release some RID homages at mass retail, rather than allowing those references become Botcon exclusives.

 

It's not about how smart FunPub is (they'd be smart to do RiD Scourge if they could, because they get the money). It's about whether Hasbro is smart enough to decide whether or not to allow FunPub to do that.

 

Interesting tidbit....gotta keep our eyes peeled for an identity confirmation, going with an Autobot tho.
