Your not an adult?  you dont have to be an adult to buy 3rd party items. You just need to be mature enough not to stab yourself with them

Thanks. I'd like Classics Devastator, Prime/FOC Bruticus and heck, maybe even a REAL ROTF Devastator! Get on it Hasbro!

Even if you forget about the size, JIT is still using the likeness of Hasbro characters. That makes their products illegal.

MakeToys, I'm not sure about. They seem to skirt the line a bit more than FansProject does.

And in HeadRobots' case, aren't some of their planned designs sorta KOs, given they're making unproduced Hasbro/Takara Headmaster animals?

    Just playing devil's advocate.

Don't wanna buy 'em though. I'm strictly Hasbro, though I was tempted to make DOTM Skywarp my first Takara figure until I heard about a US release from Shadow

Although, when it comes to the law, wouldn't the fact Hasbro has done nothing be a strike against them in court?

If memory serves, JustItToys is one of the older third party groups.

Eh. They're the same mold with new wings/head/guns. Probably 80-85% identical.

Indeed, plus the Seekers while using (possibly) stolen molds, have quite a few differences than the official product.

*is skeptical Hasbro would do another Devastator.*

I think that was more because he's kinda a feature of the Autobot City battle.

He might be talking about iGear's not-coneheads.

Well if this means Hasbro will give products targeted towards more collector-specific audiences, well that's a good thing!

They cancelled everything else that was going to be based on the early designs found in the Generations book. As far as I'm aware, everything they're doing now and in the future are original designs.

iGear makes KOs of Masterpiece toys. Fansproject does not. Everything they make uses 100% original tooling. That's why you see so much hate for iGear, and so very little for Fansproject.

I'm sure someone probably went in depth about this topic since we have a lot of pretty knowledgable board members but I'm just waaaaaaay too lazy to bother reading. What's funny is that we were just talking about this topic at the Cherrybomb show this past weekend. There is no way this is gonna happen...Hasbro is not gonna bother spending millions on pursuing these companies overseas. Though they might try to put the squeeze on their distribution channels in the US, like BBTS, TFsource, etc...they'll never get any traction going after the manufacturers themselves.

I'd be pretty ironic though IF it were to ever happen...Hasbro outsources a pretty significant portion of their product to 3rd party companies based out of China. A multi-billion dollar company going after a company producing a few thousand units...based out of a superpower county who has a vicegrip on our economy? I think not...never gonna happen.
