I bought this and I like everything about it except the head. It is just way too blocky.

Upon further inspection I think I can get used to the blocky head as long as I pose him right. I am glad I reserved this as it will be in short supply. I just hope that buying this guarantees the add on set. If the next Apex set needs this set and only 100 are made, then I don't see the Apex set selling 100.

 

The way the trailer hooks onto the back looks fucking ridiculous.

My wallet and I are so very glad to not see a single thing about this I like.

I guessed we would have seen this pic a few weeks or even months ago. With the show so close now why don't we have package pics or even color photos?

IMHO it looks like a first year students attempt at making City Commander. I find nothing redeeming about this set but also know that I have no clue who the character is and thus no interest in the character.

 

...the concept art did not have that ridiculous trailer hitch thing. It connected right onto the back of the cab, like City Commander.

If this is how it's going to be, I think I want a refund.

Uhhh.. It looks better then before but that still looks like crap. What is up with that giant blocky head? Yikes...lol.

 

Combined its not so bad but seeing it hooked to the back of prime in truck mode makes me think of a truck pulling a cement mixer or something. Didnt the drawings have this connected to the back of prime like the city commander does ?

I'm so very torn about this figure it looks kinda cool, but the price is nuts, specially factoring in that the apex armor part isn't garenteed recieved item, maybe i'll get lucky and someone on the boards will have one for trade at some point.

 

Just glancing at the picture on the front page, I thought it was a new Kre-o toy!

 

That's my feeling too. I actually dig the head, its very close to the Marvel Comic version of PM Optimus. But, I can't get behind the price, especially when I can still go to ebay and get the DIA armor for $150.

I LIKE the trailer hitch personally, and am glad its not like CC mold. I actually love it, very g1 inspired and a nice homage, same goes for the "ew blocky head". PM prime ISNT UM, not sure why all the comparison. I think for a garage kit, and I repeat GARAGE KIT, this shit looks f'ing amazing. REALLY hope the quality transfers to the final resin casts, and cant wait to see the final coloring. If I could swing it, Id get 2 for display!

edit: jesus.. just looking at it gets me wet to play with GG reissue when I get home.. the blocky head... the obnoxiously awesome bfgs.. the 10' stick trailer hitch... mmm. Seriously can not wait, and seriously considering getting a second.

 

I'm glad I got this I can't wait for the second set that goes with this one, also glad its not a copy to the FP CC mold. I'm honestly glad it looks different can't wait till it comes.

 

Not for me, but not too bad at all IMO. I'm a little curious about if this will actually be ready when Slagacon is little more than a week away now.
