Amazon Exclusive Unicron

Other than the data that was received during Botcon 2011 and the release date of October 2011 at 59.99, has anyone heard anything else about Amazon Exclusive Unicron?

 

What more do you need? 

Their are photos of the figure floating around somewhere on the forums too

 

Just trying to find out if anyone has seen any links for him on sale, and any significant changes from the Takara Unicron 2010 version.

How well is this guy expected to sell? In other words will he be easy to acquire the first week or so that he is released?

 

Let me look into my crystal ball........yep that's a ball of crystal. Your guess is as good as anyone else.

 

I am checking Amazon everyday to see if the PreOrder is up.

 

I doubt he'll fly off the shelves considering there was already the 2010 version which is more cartoon accurate.

He's less cartoon accurate but still fairly close to the 1986 film representation. He's more blue than tealish gray, silver face IIRC instead of flat light gray. There are other changes too like this chest, little details, and his hand.

I talked with the Hasbro marketing Rep at Botcon while they were putting him out. The one displayed at Botcon was not supposed to be the final colors. It was a color test shot, and the colors were still being tweaked.

 

I'd really love it if the Hasbro version also had that panel lining the 2010 Unicron did. I know it's a lot to ask from a Hasbro product, but considering the nature of the exclusive... Isn't this Amazon's first exclusive Transformer?

I think you should take a closer look at the amazon exclusive. It is definitively more cartoon accurate then the 2010 version. The colors are very cartoon accurate. I did a side by side and it is painted just like the movie.

Doing a wash to bring out panel lines is about as easy as customizing gets. I'm sure you could get all the tips and pointers you need in the Radicon section.

 

If it's anything like the BBTS Piranacon, it'll probably be in stock for a good long while.

 

I wouldn't be panicking about this if I were anyone I can see this thing being on the site for years.

 

I can't wait to see the final version.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one that keeps checking amazon for the pre-order.
