Sorry this been posted before but yahoo.com had this posted

Those Idiotic, Jive-Talkin' Robots Won't Be Back in 'Transformers 3' After All - MOVIE TALK on Yahoo! Movies

So much about "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" was horrible that picking a least favorite moment is like choosing between your children, if you kinda hated your children. But you really can't fall much farther than "Mudflap" and "Skids," the "urban" robots that, as The New York Times' Manohla Dargis' rightly said, "have been given conspicuously cartoonish, so-called black voices that indicate that minstrelsy remains as much in fashion in Hollywood as when, well, Jar Jar Binks was set loose by George Lucas." Director Michael Bay defended Mudflap and Skids (who, in the year 2009, had gold teeth and bug ears), claiming, "We're just putting more personality in. I don't know if it's stereotypes -- they are robots, by the way. These are the voice actors. This is kind of the direction they were taking the characters and we went with it."

But even Bay is smart enough to avoid more controversy while he can, claiming Monday on the official Michael Bay fan board -- oh, by the way America, there are Michael Bay fan boards -- that the twins will not appear in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

A fan blog tried to get fired up that Bay was lying, with reports that new and "improved" versions of Mudflap and Skids were seen on the set yesterday, but they have the date wrong on the post; the post they're referencing is more than a year old. So it looks like there will not in fact be awful stereotypes of African-Americans as portrayed by robots from an alien planet in the third "Transformers" movie. In Michael Bay's brain, perhaps this is considered progress.

Tell that to the two Chevy Sparks that drive in during the NASA meeting in the trailer.

They're in there. They aren't racist. Deal with it.

    Yes.

Even if they are in the movie, it seems as though they'll have about as much screentime as Jolt did.

Pretty much this. Whatever they couldn't cut out of them will probably be reduced to background characters like Jolt was in ROTF.

    EDIT- Split Lip'd!

No...No I'm pretty sure they're still in. Sorry, article writer, I'm sure you're very upset.

P.S. I think only pseudo-intellectual journalists think the Twins were racist. They were an admittedly poorly-done dig at poser white kids, that's it. Anyone looking deeper than that is trying too hard, I think.

True I had thought they was still in the 3rd one wasn't sure if it had changed, but thought I share to see if anyone knew anymore on this. Still trying to find the post they claim came from Bay on his site so I'm sure this is rumor.

Fact: The Twins are in the movie.
Myth: They're going to take away all of the screentime from the cooler robots.
    Fact: The Twins were annoying.
    Myth: They were also racist.

Just to clarify, I was not taking a shot at you; I was making a dig at the writer of the article you posted.

For real. I can't believe it's such a hot issue, they either are or they aren't, won't matter to me either way. There is clearly a lot of much more important stuff going on that will distract me from them.

Everybody seems to have missed the boat on what the Twins actually were, they were not a stereotypical pair of African-Americans with bad speak, they were a pair of teenaged equivalent Autobots who were trying to fit in with human culture based off the internet, based off of years of sterotypical slag that we as humanity draw attention to ourselves, sometimes in the open more often than not in the darker shadowed corners left unseen by most average citizens.

The Writers probably didn't even think of this because they weren't 100% involved with the characterizations, but it seems to me that the Twins were meant as a typical Alien fitting into Human Culture the wrong way deal.

Only those who seek to paint everything in a negative light and cry RACISM, RACISM at every percieved slander consider the Twins Racist. And by and large if anything they are racist against Ghetto White Trash trying to fit in with an African-American Community, like is depctied quite often in crime dramas, soap dramas and other things, like those white rappers' songs.

Of course trying to base anything on logical and meaningful observations results in being called an idiot in most areas of society, so I guess trying to educate the masses at this point would be pointless.

True they also had oddly created faces that reflected derogatory artistic styles from the past, but that doesn't necessarily mean they were trying to portray the Twins as 'Black' simply that the designs for their head sculpts were selected to reflect a certain aesthetic. HELL Hasbro themselves okayed the Friggen designs, so there is no way it was ever meant to be Racist in even the slightest possible way. Some individuals are just too quick to jump on the Racism banner to try and score points and make up for our white ancestors treatment of non-white skinned people.

Doesn't matter what Bay say's, we saw what we saw in the trailer. They may not get that much screen time but their still there. He'll probably kill them off early or in the middle of the film. By the way why doesn't anyone make a big deal about Jazz??? He was just as bad as them in the first movie. He didn't add anything to the first movie in my opinion...

Maybe they've matured a little bit? Perhaps the twins aren't there in their old capacity, but back as less offensive characters?

If anything, and this is coming from someone who has absolutely no problem with the Twins and actually likes them, I want to see one of them die and the other be affected in a way that either sends him out in a glory blaze or turns him into a more compatent fighter. Probably won't happen, but that'd be really nice to see.

I think they missed that boat because it only sailed on Transformers messageboards with fans eager to offer a defense. The movie itself did not offer this explanation, and can only be interpreted for what it was. I was around when this theory was constructed, adopted, and disseminated on the messageboards for fans, by fans, so I'm familiar with it. The makers of the movie didn't use this explanation, though, so I understand why casual movie goers aren't familiar with it. People who think the Twins are racist aren't stupid, they're just not members of the internet messageboard community, who came together after the movie and decided that it was "all right." So I forgive outsiders for being unfamiliar with unofficial canon, just as I forgive insiders for not being familiar with the history of racial stereotyping in America and what it really means.

Oh, man. This article has a major factual error. Yahoo's reporter/blogger, Will Leitch, makes reference to ToplessRobot's article and links to a TFW news post from 2010.

He cites ToplessRobot and states that "they have the date wrong on the post; the post they're referencing is more than a year old."

But he failed to notice that ToplessRobot was stating that Michael Bay's statement was untrue because Skids/Mudflap had been seen during the film's production. He completely missed the point as a simple factual statement in reference to what was seen on set last year, not saying that they were "just seen on set yesterday."

    This.

The Michael Bay post this entire story is about dates from May 2010.
