Hmmm....it looks like the red bits on Starscream are actually translucent plastic now. Must have stuff.

 

why is space case drawn differently in both comics?

 

Nice to see them doing this, but not enough to persuade me to buy either of them.

Starscream gets the better deal here. It's a better mold and better comic art.

 

Because they're drawn by different artists? LOL

But you have the point... it is quite hard to recognize both as the same character. It took me a while.

 

The art of Ratchet on the last page of his comic is awful, I thought it was a completely different bot to begin with.

 

These are fun reads. Well, the first one is.

Arcee is drawn really bizarrely in the second one...

 

I'd rather have the Starscream comic....but I'll probably end up with the Ratchet one because I want the new deco...

 

The Starscream comic has pretty good artwork.

With the Starscream one I thought it was a continuation of the Unite story for a moment. The one where there was a Megatron beating incoming.

 

Arcee looks hella weird.

Starscream just gets his ass kicked by everyone.

 

Not really.

First, he surprises Megatron, throwing him off ( who assumed he can have have SS pinned down all the time )

Then Starscream basically approaches Space case in a careful manner, but when that one doesn't want to talk, they end up in a stalemate scenario.

By the way, it seems as if Megatron's still in Africa there. Hmm, I see human cars and a pickup truck with some sort of rope weights and chopped off robot parts. I guess Megatron
defeated humans + Autobot, who wanted to catch him.
Also, it's pretty clear Megatron is bigger now his robot form includes the trailer + tanker ; which explains why Optimus has longer legs now and why all toys are scaled down.

 

Ah, it's good to see Milne back drawing Starscream. His artwork mademe love the Movie Screamer design back in Reign of Starscream. Not a bad comic itself, though Space Case seems to be getting quite the toy advertisement.

As for the Ratchet comic... I'm sorry, but that is some horrible artwork. Space Case didn't look too bad, but Arcee and Ratchet were just awful-looking. Don't really care for the story of that one, either.

Starscream is a buy, but Ratchet will be a shelfwarmer...

 

I love how Starscream is just frolicking in a field. It could almost be the cover to a Celtic music CD.

Also this has turned my interest in Space Case from a 6 (I dont hate it but its got nothing on the original) to a 8 (if he has the darker blue that the comic has plus all that red I might pick him up)

 

         

I actually do dig that repaint though. Will probably nab one on sight.

 

Is it just me or did Space Case just steal Screamer's G1 color scheme in the 2nd comic? Or at least Screamer's Armada colors, after looking more carefully at him. And that Ultra Magnus doll, heh.

 

What happened to Ratchet's face?? Quick!!....Medic!!!!!!!!  

Starscream isn't looking all that good either..maybe when I see him in retail, I'll feel differently, but for now, I'll just be happy with my Leader SS.
