BBTS redeco preorders - "shared exclusives"? I noticed these just a second ago; one is obviously the Banana Brawl/Bombing Run Battle Bumblebee twopacks that were Walmart exclusives...but have the others been released? I didn't remember a Rhinox redeco of Backstop ever coming out. No pics listed, unfortunately. Only thing that sounds interesting is the Dinobot-styled set, but even that is dubious since it includes a sabertooth tiger? WTF?
The minicon sets sound like upcoming waves of those single pack minicons... at least the 4 animals do... the set of 3 might be packaged as 3 or another single pack wave...? The basics... didn't we see something about them again recently? Backstop looked more like a slight redeco(different hues but same colors), not like a whole new paint job meant to emulate Rhinox. So those sets I think are unreleased so far... but ya the deluxe/legends sound like the wal-mart ones and the legends 4-pack... sounds like something that would have been out at Kmart or some place, but I haven't kept track to know if it has been released or not yet.
I like the idea of a the Dino minicons in G1 colors. I wonder if the three pack could be in Gobot colors? The molds could be Leader 1, Cykill, and Cop-Tur.
Actually, I think Backstop was a completely new silver deco. He had changes to his rhino head that were significant at the very least. The other two have blue, not green Cyber Planet Keys.
The Backstop redeco is just Backstop. It's better colour scheme on a crap toy. Like a better colour for a brown turd is silver.
Most of that seem to be aimed for the secondary market. Most of the uses for "shared exclusive" have been for internet or discount store exclusives. In the last few years, Hasbro has started putting energies into producing products outside the usual Walmart/Target/etc group. The Universe basics and minicon packs are likely the stuff being produced for Dollar General and the like retailers for this holiday season. Rest sound like they got some overstock of store exclusives.
The Dollar General/Big Lots/Family Dollar single Minicons have been a huge WTF to me. The price (at least locally) is horrible, especially for a "dollar" store. Don't get me wrong...I'm a sucker for Minicons and would have bought all of the ones at my local dollar store...but not for what they're asking.
BOUGHT! I've been waiting for Hasbro to repaint that Mini-Con team into Dinobot colors! This would be a great companion piece for the Power-Core Combiner Dinobots.
Bonus points if they actually use the name "Slagg". Hopefully Jimmy Justice over in the UK doesn't put up a fuss about it.
You'll have to point me in the direction of the people who complained about previous toys in the UK being called Slag.
this is cool, but I would have really prefered to see them do the dinobots in the legends class, similar to the newest rts legends eh, I'll pick em up if I see them or like their look enough.
