Looks pretty good. Will wait for bot-mode pics to decide, but I'll be surprised if I don't get this figure. Hopefully the bot-mode turns out pretty good. The alt-mode gives me somewhat of a RotF Megatron tank-mode vibe.

That's actually some pretty sound logic.

 

can't quite tell with the angle of the pic, but it looks like this alt mode is faaar from symmetrical, seeing as how the cannon arm is not centered. it'll look pretty funky, in a good way?, but that's what i expect from bayformers...

i'm expecting all kinds of hell from that hose...deteriorating rubber, just like with g1 shocky, as well as the pipe constantly popping out. that rubber looks pretty stiff, so it'll want to pop back to its perfectly straight position a lot...

Indeed. It took me a second to realize it, but the cannon is not centered, and each arm forms it's own tank weapon. Cannon on (Shockwave's) right, and sword/smaller gun on the left.

 

Honestly, not bad so far. I don't mind Cybertronian as long as the bot mode is good. I realize the movie toys have had a bad track record of that since all Megatrons and the Fallen have been pretty awful but I'll remain optimistic about old Shocky. Hopefully robot mode pix will leak soon!

i quite like it that way. better than giving shocky some weakass posability and arm joints like with leader rotf megatron. dramatically asymmetrical robot modes should not try to force symmetrical alt modes.

I felt that ROTF megatron was a weak Tf due to his easy peasy transformation.

 

i don't think anyone has addressed this yet, so here goes...

not totally diggin the dude's color. i wish the purple was a lot darker, rather than this bright vibrant shade. the shockwave face cutout on set had a much darker purple... anyhoo, i'm hoping that the brightness is a mix of bad pic quality and bad lighting, but if it isn't, i can definitely tolerate it...

 

At least he's not inexplicably Green.

 

I dig the purple, personally. Too dark and it stops being purple.

Also, it remind me of black raspberry ice cream, and IT JUST MAKES ME WANT HIM MORE
