That's cool. They are throwing several things from Transformers lore into this film. I like where it is going so far.

Geez, the Autobots are getting a major boost in numbers. I'm guessing (and hoping) the Decepticons are the same and we haven't seen them on set because they are all of the FUCKING HUGE variety and CGI.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt NASCAR often viewed in the US as the preserve of rednecks? If so, redneck accents it is!

where the car comes from has nothing to do with there accent or if they will get any lines damnit.

sideways' car mode was from europe adn he didnt have a europian acent in the movie. hell he didnt even have any lines. so quit ridin that scooter.

Man, theres one hell of a lot more new Autobots this time around. We've got three wreckers, Doc Emmet Brown bot, Rollbar, the red ferrari... And i thought there was meant to be "less bots" for tf3! Screentime for each will no doubt be limited, but for the sake of an epic battle, im not complaining!

Gotta wonder where all the cons are at though. Their conspicuous on-set absence leads me to believe that they will all sport cybertronian modes or just be in bot mode the whole time. They could be military vehicles again, but surely they'd be on set?

I'm wondering about this too. It's actually reminding me a lot of that supposed Ehren Kruger script treatment for TF2 (which was, I hasten to add, NEVER confirmed as real so it could be bogus). From [Links are hidden for guests. Please Register.].

Vaguely possible spoilers below, I guess? It's pretty much just my speculation. (No time to re-read the treatment, I just found it again, so the below is IIRC)

That treatment did, however, call for a truly alarming number of Autobots because there were three distinct groups of them in the story. One of them was led by Ultra Magnus, who carted his faction around all by himself in car carrier mode. Wasn't there a set report of a white car carrier with the Wreckers? Because that sounds very familiar (despite no mention of Wreckers).

The other faction was led by Hot Rod (who is a Ferrari), who actually hung out with the "main" Autobots a fair bit as well.

There were also two Decepticon factions that were in open war: one led by Megatron and one by Starscream. Not sure that would work with Screamer's RotF personality, but suddenly we have Shockwave...the OTHER disloyal Decepticon from the comics.

(The other tidbit that makes me think there MAY be something genuine in the "Kruger treatment" is the fact that it predicted the utterly random eleventh hour cameo of Scorponok in RotF. Circumstances are totally different in this draft, but he comes out of nowhere, ruins everything, and then dies.)
