Obviously, if you like anything that isnt G1, you're a G1-hater, even if you also like G1.

So, does this mean transformers fans are going to split up into subgroups like cristianity, and wage war with each other over who is right?
I hope so, it would be fun to watch.

Happened already. It's how we got the majority of the Transformers sites now. Fun to watch, not fun to be part of it. (Some parts I'm glad are in the past.)

You're at least 10 years too late. Google 'Trukk not Munky'.

G1 may have peaked my interest as a fan, but Beast Wars -- especially CODE OF HERO -- sealed it.

G1 was for kids. CODE OF HERO was for adults and kids. 'nuff said.

I'll just say that it's because of Dinobot, Optimus Primal, Megatron, Rattrap and company that I have the Animated bots in my signature, caught G1 later on, have a Masterpiece Prime on my shelf, and went crazy over movie toys.

Beast Wars introduced me to Transformers. It was a new generation of kids who had heard of G1, but grew up with Power Rangers instead. It was the ONLY show I remember being the "in-thing" with me and my pals back when we were kids. We would discuss the characters, re-read and marvel at tech specs, leaf through Hasbro toy catalogues, memorize even non-show character names, enact fight scenes and more. Sound familiar? I'm sure an entire generation a few years before did the same with their G1 toys and show.

Beast Wars is to a whole generation what G1 was to kids in the 80s and the Movies/Animated are to kids now. And amongst it all, Dinobot's sacrifice was supreme. He went like a warrior, made me feel for the character in ways my little young mind could not understand. He would always be a hero in my eyes; his status further cemented when even a cloning and brainwashing kept the honor and hero in him.

Growing up with Power Rangers isnt something I would brag about. Now Voltron, that was a combiner to be proud of.

Haha, then would you believe that Power Rangers brought me to appreciate Voltron as well? Really it's another one generation and another thing. It's not fair to entirely discredit Power Rangers considering they did survive a whole 17 seasons.

But let's not get off-topic, we all have our own preferences. Back on-topic, do you suppose Hall of Famers get toys?

Aw man, as if Trukk VS Munky wasn't enough for one thread. Please don't bring that in here too lol.

I really don't understand what Beast Wars haters are so up in arms over. Currently all of the Hall of Fame members are all G1, and except Dinobot, the nominees are all G1 as well.

And according to one of them Hasbro convention panels they can't even reissue Classics Megs in his original Nerf-or-Nothing colors. He'd need to be even more ridiculous looking to meet today's standards.
