he's not saying he's not coming back... but most actors take rolls to challenge themselves into doing something new, but being cast in something that is bound to have multiple continuations leads you to feeling stale sometimes, because its the same thing over and over again... same character you've got to be every other year... that gets boring... he'll be back for at least a 3rd one... because the big check from here allows him to do smaller things later... just look at Elijah Wood... he did the LOTR movies, and now he can focus on just doing what he wants because he's got more then enough money, so he takes only roles he really wants to take now...

I sure hope TF3 will be better.

Can't say that I don't blame Shia for finding it hard to get back into the swing of things where the TF films are concerned.

Well, a Transformers 4 without any human kiddo would be.. refreshing I suppose.

If he goes, please take Megan Fox with you too..
    Please.. :(

Who's says that Michael Bay's going to do a 4th TF movie? I thought he's only going to do 3 and that's that.

Sorry Shia but I believe that you're legally contracted to do at least 3 out of the 5 rumored films.

I'm glad that he's taking it seriously and wants to make the thrid one good, but he kinda comes off as a smug douche. Just do the movie man, you know it'll make a ton of money, and more people are going to see your work than doing some "artsy" "serious" film. Whatever, just make the movie already.

well i cant say i blame him at all. doing a trilogy of films where you play the same character dose kind of give the feeling that your getting stale. but, its just like what lumpy said with elijah wood. as soon as he is done with these 3 films, all of the money he will have gotten from them will allow him to do just about anything he wants. and im glad he wants to make TF3 the best. hope it is! :thumbs2:

So he needs to find another character that allows him to run around and have panic attacks, basically.

I've heard the same thing from other actors. Playing the same part can get stale for those who seek to challenge themselves, or look into other roles.

Nontheless, I'm sure he'll do good, and he seems to like being on Transformers, but he also wants to do something else.

EDIT: Or exactly what Lumpy said. :/

The 2nd movie was crap, the robots were nothing more than props. I don't go to a Transformer movies to watch the humans, you know what I mean? We need more characterization of the Transformers themselves!

Unless the future of Transformers movies are bay-less I dont think Shia is ever going to get the challenge he craves from these movies. Still I'm sure he knew this when he signed on so he really has no one else to blame but himself.

I know this is impossible for a mainstream movie, but ideally for us, they should have a Transformer as the main character, not a human. Then you'd get what you want.

If he bails out, then perhaps the 4th film can feature Sam's bitter greasemonkey cousin Buster? He's been all bummed out because his rich, pansy cousin Sam gets to spend all of his time with transforming cars while he toils away in Detroit.

    Mr. Bay, I'm available. :)

Sam and Mikalea will have a kid named Daniel. Daniel will go off to Cybertron and after taking on Megatron and blowing him up because he kills Optimus, next thing we know this smartass HotRod becomes leader even though Bumblebee was more qualified and the two of them get sucked into a spacebridge to a world called Eternia where he'll meet a crazed robotic scientist named The Quintesson who created an evil skeletal robot named Skeletor who is bent on destroying Eternia with the power of a Ram-skull-shaped staff that has a fragment of the All Spark lodged in it. So Bumblebee scans a local lifeform to fit into this scifi-ish fantasy land and becomes a off-greenish feline and renames himself Cheetor and then Daniel and Cheetor face numerous odds until Daniel is stabbed with Skeletor's allspark staff and turns him into a cyborg like behemoth who shouts I HAAAVE THE POWER!!! and then o/` 'you got the touch' o/` starts playing and Daniel/He-Man (though he's never called that in the movie like Scalpel) destroys Skeletor and saves Eternia, that is until the carcass of Megatron arrives on Cybertron and the tratiorous Starscream opts to shove him into the space bridge instead of trying to repair him and The Quintesson finds the dead Megatron and the defeated Skeletor and has the brilliant idea to combine the two of them thus creating GALVATRON for movie 5, and THAT'S when things get a little weird.
