Yep. I'm an idiot - much research revealed to me what should have been obvious all along: they're "netsu" "kanchi" missiles - Netsu as in "Temperature", not "fever" (though, it means both), and "kanchi" as in "sensing". Heat-seeking missiles. Gotta love Japanese.
