War for Cybertron - Kotaku Articles - Console live demo and DS version

Kotaku has posted an article for War for Cybertron where they were presented with a live demo of the game: Kotaku Linkage

Pretty good stuff going on there. Here is an early snippit and a few in article images from their site:

I'm digging the picture of Ironhide with his own axe!

I would expect Ironhide to have a Hammer rather than an axe.

 

Faster than me! Points of interest:

-Homage to original opening of Transformers via BB and jets.
-Jetfire and Screamer are BBF in science before this pops up.
-Optimus becomes Optimus Prime....not sure if just a leader title or not.
-Soundwave is a truck. No tapes.
-Button Controlled Transformation.
-Drop in drop out coop.
-Optimus transforms to use a turret, then rips it off Halo 3 style
-No cover system

Ever played Star Wars Battlefront 2? To sprint you click the thumbstick, I assume here it's the thumbstick that controls forward/backward movement, so actually sounds pretty good. That way you never have to let up on the acceleration.

 

Based on the comments it sounds like we will get a flood of articles today about the game. The media embargo has been lifted today.

 

Heeey! DS version doesnt look too bad! Actualy its much easier on the eyes than CONSOLE's "dark gritfest".

 

Er.. the screenshot from the DS article is a screenshot from the console version of the game.

 

I'm sure he's aware of that. He's referring to the screenshots at the bottom of the article.

 

AHA! Frick I didn't see those. They do look pretty darn good. I think they may have added those images after I blitz read through the article.

No they'renot not, there's a whole bunch of DS screenshots in the article.

Unless you assumed that I'm dumb enough to believe that the obviously XBOX360 screesnshot with THIS ISNT FROM DS GAME text under it was a DS screenshot.

p.s. that robot looks like shit, just a fat thing with guns and red lights, why would anyone be excited about that?

 

Soundwave looks excellent in the screenshot there. It appears they refined him to be a bit less 'shardy' for the final design. I'm a bit surprised there's no cover system, have to see how that plays out.

 

I assume it's one click, since they said it's "just a click of the thumbstick."
