His DW stuff was the best TF art ever. This is a little worse than the -ation series...which was weak. Too bad they didn't stick with AHM art, as it was solid in my opinion. | |

To put it simply: he was getting tired of drawing the characters the way that he had been, so decided to change it up a bit.

Keep the Movie-style for the bodies, but switch back to the smoother faces and it would look a lot better.
That said, I won't be picking this up. IDW's management of the G1 TF comic franchise has been a complete mess and I'm not wasting any more money on their stuff. Hopefully, Hasbro will wise up and give the license to someone else soon.  | |

No amount of good storytelling will convince me to pay for this type of rendering. I don't like the G1-to-Bayformers quasi-transition, but then again I don't like Bayformers designs either. The faces are unbearable.
If you're gonna do G1 then do it G1 style.
DW's TF G1 ongoing they had started was superior imo, the art was superb and it felt like G1.
