How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end |

My reasoning behind this is that the general public (kids) already are familiar with the movie-verse. They think a cartoon based on the movie characters would be welcomed by the kiddos since the movie did so well.
I really hope this is not the direction they are going. | Remember that Godzilla cartoon that was on Fox Kids that was totally better than the '98 movie, even though it was based on it? Or the original Clone Wars by Genndy Tartakovsky, which is almost universally agreed by fans and critics to be superior to the actual prequel trilogy?
Imagine that happening to the movie. Movie designs streamlined for animation, with writing on par with Animated and an actual animation budget... (One of the only things I disliked about Animated was the rather cheap animation they used for everything except stock footage) Think about it. |

2) I wasn't involved in the question-picking this month.
3) Getting the sites together is a good idea on paper, but doesn't work. It quickly becomes a bunch of people bickering over "popular" questions to get on their site. It was attempted before, by the AllSpark I believe, and you can see how many people didn't join that ship.
4) The Q&A process is sloppy. Out of three sites (TFW, Cybertron.CA, ToyArk), I don't think we've gone a single month where all the questions from all the sites have been answered. I remember a few months ago when TFW2005 submitted 3 very good questions and only got 1 answer back.
I think the important thing to note right now is the reason Hasbro's answers are so vague is because there's nothing that they can tell us about right now. New cartoon? No animation studio, or if there is, very very very very early process. Universe 3.0? Still finishing out ROTF market-refresh. Movie toys left to be seen? Hasbro won't say.
I'd get more in to things, but like I said, I wasn't involved in this Q&A session, so I'm not the best person to respond on why some questions were picked over others. | The Q&A process is just something that the sites and the transformers team has to grow into. The Star Wars toy Q&A makes for interesting reading but it's been going for a while the transformers Q&A just needs to get through its growing pains
Repeat questions from different sites is pretty common and shouldnt be a big deal. Hasbro will just send everybody the same answer anyway.
Hasbro is being overly secret with transformers right now and its getting annoying. We dont even know what the case assortment is for the next wave of deluxes. Is robot replicas and Fabs over? I understand not getting info on the next line but there is no info coming out at all Megatron says street dates are for wimps |

Answers something like "we can't give out the details right now but we are working on some new products that we think our collectors are really going to be excited for". That wouldn't let the cat out of the bag but it would put in a bit of hope and excitement for what might come next.
I guess the answers just always sound a little too corporate suit like instead of being written as something that would appeal to how we as fans look at things. I guess they need to change up how they answers things so it sounds a bit more casual and geared more toward the stuff that gets us excited as fans. Make it sound more like we are talking to a friend instead of talking to a lawyer. |

yeah that gozilla cartoon was the shit ..it was more like the japanese movies in terms of godzilla was fighting other monsters and aliens...the reason the movie bombed wasnt becuz of the design of the creature it was becuz it had a retarded lead character trying to get his asshole girl back and the whole story was just bad bad bad..I bet if the story was awesome and godzilla was kicking ass against another mutant monster in the city then nobody would have even cared about the design change....same goes for tf2 the story and the movie as a whole is just rotten...you are right, if a new cartoon is based off the movie and it has good story and decent animation along with good voice actors then it will probably be pretty sweet...I dont mind the designs I just hate the fact that bay is just horrible at making movies..he actually thinks that it is because of him that people watch transformers movies..but it is really the brand name, transformers was a house hold name long b4 Bay started directing ...hope he stays far away from any future animated TF series |
