Well with the exception of NQSC, those black Convoy-repaints were generally evil. Seems to me Flipsides works as a lovely plot device to allow collectors to have these guys work for whichever faction they want (Though I suspect that, officially, in the end the Destrons are gonna have an Evil-Convoy Army!)

Heck, for the Cybertrons, they appear to be caught in a 'damned if they dont damned if they do' kind of scenario. Anyhoo-- cant wait to get at least two!  of this figure!! Black sexyness. Yumm  | |

I don't know ... cheapens the name and the Optimus mold design. He doesn't seems powerful anymore; he's just another drone to be picked off like the Movie-verse drones.
I'd much rather Convoy be given some more significance. Every Black Convoy so far has fulfilled a role of importance. Multiplying him by 21 doesn't make him awesome; it just makes him expendable and regular.
