How does this set compare to the Chinese Box set (the one that came in a tin box, post cards, and key chain) in terms of episode quality?

I've got everything G1 in computer files but will be picking all the US G1 up on dvd now that the prices are reasonable. I got this set and it's certainly decent.

Shout G1 season 1

I bought this and just love what this company did to the show. I have had the Rhino complete set years ago and thought is was crummy (the reason I know longer have any of it.). This company did it right and I don't mind waiting 4 the rest of it as opposed to the Matrix complete set.

I own the first season and its great I'm waiting intil the second disc coming out this September. Now the box set is awesome, but its expensive I'm thinking of just buying the individual discs and make my own box set.

Is the next one going to be season 2 part 1 or the full season for $20.00? I have the whole rhino collection but I'll bite for $60.00 for the whole shout factory set.

Thanks for the review, Joe.

Our tastes don't always match in regards to what movies and shows we like, but I have found that you demand excellence in audio\video quality so to hear your endorsement of this set is a big selling point for me.

Shout Factory's going the extra mile will get my sale.
If there was only some way they could have gotten you and The Spacebridge to do a commentary track that would have been pure ♥ ♥ ♥!

I really didn't mind the video on the Rhino sets because I knew what they were up against. But, I can't imagine how they thought they were doing a good thing with the audio.

I remember thinking the audio was "off" but then when I heard "We now return to [Generic Rocket Noise That is WAY TOO LOUD]mers" I was like:

I wanted to get the Matrix complete box set and didn't realize that it was already available so this is article is doubly informative.

Might have to get that, too.

Maybe it's just my TV, but did anyone notice a certain loss of audio quality outside of their vocal track from Ultimate Doom Part 2 until the end of the season?
I'm not sure if it's just my TV but while the voice overs are heard perfectly along with the music score, the sound effects are about 90% lost.
Hey everyone! Come to TFCog.net! We got those japanese exclusive TF Shows but the way they were meant to see, in english! And no they aren't the stardubs! Hell check me out ;) Tasmanian Kid in BWII and now Rodimus Prime for Headmasters!

Don't own the Rhino ones, but I DO have that set. Menu's in Chinese, there is an English track... and blast it all, those stupid sound effects are STILL here. Includes the movie, though..
