Gosh, people are really exaggerating the critical reaction to this film...worst-reviewed film of the year? It wasn't even the worst-reviewed film of the month; Year One, anybody?

No, the reception wasn't positive, but it wasn't Gigli-bad or anything; certainly the viewer reaction seems to have been pretty decent.

I reckon HP stands a good chance of taking the worldwide crown, but I think that RotF is guaranteed to beat it in the US if it reaches $300 million. No Potter film has exceeded $300 million since the first one in the US, and bear in mind this film is the first to be released since the book series wrapped up, so I have a feeling that demand may be slightly dampened this time round...

Yes, amazing, isn't it?

You should follow up on that and make "Facepalm: The Musical". It could be the theme song for the Movie forum.

Dude, whatever the critics say, they are entitled to their opinion, but look at the ticket sales, and probably most are from repeat customers, the fact remains that this is a movie about giant robots doing incredible things despite of the foul language and crude humor (which has it's own audience-American Pie series anyone?) I'm glad that ROTF is doing well, because that means there will be more to look forward to for the 3rd movie. Just when they do get to the third movie, they'll take some of the criticisms and tone down on the gutter humor, and shed the editor who cut the film together. Oh and leave out the humans altogether will be fine by me too.

I understand the thrill of watching things blow up, but there are Summer popcorn flicks that try to be more than what their genre tells them to be. This isn't one of them.

Revenge of the Fallen was a tasteless barrage of offensive images, and for what it is, what its intending to be its fantastic. However taken out of the context of Bay, the Transformers franchise, and fan hype in general, its just another Batman and Robin.
but see there's different genres. You've got horror, sci-fi, drama, suspense, documentary, weird ones like Faces of Death, and then you've got summer popcorn movie.

You just don't like popcorn movies. That's cool, most people favor different genres over others.

Hardly. It may do better, but it certainly will not 'walk all over ROTF'.

Well, despite my reservations on the film, and I have many, this can only mean greater exposure and a willingness on Hasbro's part to make a new series. Which can only be good.
