    1) Will we see a Transformers series in the vein of GI Joe Resolute? With the recent announcement of the Hasbro and Discovery Kids joint venture there will likely be great opportunities for new Transformers animation.
Unfortunately, it is a little bit too early to make any announcement on what this may or may not be.

    2) How does Hasbro view custom fan-produced upgrade kits (City Commander Armor, Shadow Commander Armor, etc) and add-ons (Another War God Sword, Aerial Team Appendages, etc) for Transformers figures? Particularly with FansProject apparently moving into producing full, transforming figures that are based heavily on Transformers characters, is Hasbro largely accepting of these projects or might they be vulnerable to legal action in the future?
Hasbro takes its Intellectual Properties very seriously. As we¹ve stated in the past, Hasbro does not condone the unauthorized production and sales of our toy designs or intellectual property. Simply put, the manufacture, distribution and any resale of fake Transformers products is illegal. Customized figures have historically been a result of our fans¹ passion for the brand. While we love the passion and this form of artistic expression, when customization becomes a business without being an official licensee, it infringes on the Transformers IP.

    3) Is it possible that Universe (or something like it celebrating characters from all of Transformers' history) will return down the road? If so will any Transformers Animated characters be incorporated into the line?
We certainly appreciate all of the interest that the Animated and Universe lines have received! It is still too early to speculate what the future of Transformers will be post Revenge of the Fallen as we are gearing up for what will hopefully be a groundbreaking year for Transformers!

All I got from this was that fan-produced figures and accessories will have the wrath of Hasbro's Lawyers brought down upon them until they cease to exist.

And we already know from BotCon that Animated and Universe toylines will return.

I used Q&A dodge! *Fwoosh!* Take that, obsessive fanbase! We can give you any kind of vague answers we want! :p

In all seriousness, the only good answer was the FP one, although it was already sort of answered at BotCon. :/

It would be nice if we could have asked questions post-con, so there aren't so many already answered q's.

For all the people that will inevitably bitch about how Hasbro just dodged questions, maybe you should take a look at our last question submission thread. It was basically only rehashes of the following-
    1. Questions Hasbro answered in the past.
    2. Questions the staff said we would not get answers to (is Animated canceled?!).
    3. Can we have this or that toy?
    4. Will Universe/Animated/Alternators/etc. be coming back?

Maybe if we made an EFFORT to ask decent questions, we'd get some decent answers.

I didn't learn anything new from that, they just said a bunch of maybe's...and to add to that, it sounds like Fansproject is going to be facing some big problems in the future...All I can hope for is Hasbro see's the potential of a partnership with them.

I'd swear #2 is worded exactly the same way that Greg Lombardo delivered the answer to that question at Botcon. o_O

Remember that this is Hasbros official legal position - it isn't necesarily the same as what they will actually do (although I expect they'll do something about the full figures)

I thought the second half of the answer for the second question was interesting.
Wondering if Hasbro is gonna start going after folks like Frenzy-Rumble or Jim Saotome

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turns out he answers these Q&As himself. He's the marketing maestro, after all.

I don't understand why hasbro does what they do. Perahps i'm not looking at the big pitcure and reports they see but they seem not to really care about the fans and what the fans think and sometimes as fans we take what they give us because we think thats all there is. I'm tired of getting into one thing spending all this money and then something else pops out. it's because of this reason I have not collected on everything hasbro brings out. aI didn't like armada, thought energon was decent, nothing of cybertron. I finally get into animated and classics and they drop em like bad habbit because of the movie figures which are crap except for the human alliance which is the only thing that will get my attention cuz i loved alternators which i understand why they canceled that one. it was only for collectors and thats not where hasbro makes it's money.

When I read it, I thought the same thing. The way it was worded implied that anyone that makes a living customizing Transformers may be hearing from Hasbro in the future.

Hopefully it doesn't trickle down to F_R as he is more of a one off customizer. I love his work, could never afford any of it but I love to look at it.

how can hasbro say we are making unauthorized productions of their designs? did they have a city commander in the works>? did they have abattle roller in the works? legally they havent a leg to stand on....all the 3rd parties have to do is rename their products to something else, and the fact they happen to fit with transformers is purely coincidence... so urge you makers of great third party toys that after you make your products, when you display them, use paper models or SOME OTHER MEDIUM other than a hasbro or takara transformer to display and sell your work...problem solved. but honestly those greedy bastards are turning me off to their brand.... they are producing crap...and any good line they make they cancel....isnt it the fans that pay their bills....so if you make something we like....shouldnt you keep it? listen to your bill payers ....

I couldn't agree with you more

Fans project is making things that fans want to see and collect. hasbro does but they only make what they want to make not what the fans want to see. I mean how long have we been asking for a decent RC figure and just now is when they will give us an animated one. and how long have we been asking for an ultra magnus that isn't a repaint of prime. Hasbro you pi$$ me off

Oh and there are a lot of great creative people out there who come up with some really cool ideas and the reason hasbro doesn;t use em is because they don;t want to pay em out. hasbro wants all the money to themselves. instead of appreciating thos creative people and being honored they would take the time to improve on the crap they make, they just leave em in the dark and keep taking there money.

ok i have to breath now. sorry if i got that was too much. I just had to get it off my chest.

I love these Q&A's. Everytime I read them I get this image of someone asking Hasbro a question, and Hasbro throwing a smoke bomb down on the ground and disappearing like a Ninja.

    *POOF!!*

    "the hell?"
