I think they want to see what sells better, seeing the vehicle mode or seeing the robot mode, it's a possibility

Actually, I talked with Hasbro about that when we visited them last month. Kids seem to prefer toys packed in robot mode since they look bigger and fill the bubble better, so with the ROTF line, they're using both variants to see if that has any effect on sales. For instance, deluxe BB is packed in 'bot mode as he's a main character and one that kids like. Sideswipe is packed in alt mode.

I personally think the robot mode packaging makes for a nicer display... if I was an MISB collector, anyway.

Much prefer alt mode packaging. I like having the bot mode revealed as I transform the toy for the first time. It also makes transforming back to vehicle mode easier for me if I've already seen where everything is supposed to end up.

Interesting...I'm officially confused, lol. No matter what style packaging I see in stores, I'll be getting him, though the bot-mode packaged one does look better. He fills the packaging, and is displayed nicely, imo. Whereas the alt-mode packaged one looks small in the packaging, and a bit boring, tbh. It'll be interesting to see if we also see the Fallen packaged in alt-mode too.
