I bought a couple of the ROTF figs from the Elgin Illinois Meijer today and found something interesting:
This isn't just a packaging error, the picture is the same but the name is different. There are also differences to the side & bottom of the package (the bottom is in 6 languages which leads me to believe it may be the insert for the european release, how it got into the Elign Meijer I have no clue). The bar code didn't scan, so they scanned the regular Dead End 2 times
The back of both cards mentions the character as Dead End, and are Identical.
Is this a running change, a common double release that's been mentioned alot (that I seemed to have missed?), a European release come stateside by mistake, or a genuine "could be worth money someday" error?

Only there were probably already alot of them made in Dead End packaging.
Probably in a while both American and European versions will have Detour on them.. |

However, a lot of what you've stated seems to suggest that this might be a European figure that somehow got shipped out in a set of US releases instead. Stranger things have happened. Though, I do find it interesting that his overseas release is being called Detour. Curious.
Finally, I doubt it's one of those, one in a million 'worth something someday' errors. There just seems to be too much suggesting it as a European packaged version of the figure. My Junkion Exchange Feedback Thread |

And I suppose this is a misprint that somehow got out in the wide world. I'd hold onto it, keep it in it's packaging. Might be worth something after a while?
I doubt it's just "the European version", because why then would the back of the package still refer to the figure as Dead End? Definitely looks like prototype packaging to me. |

Darn it?
I don't keep packaging so I guess it doesn't bother me like the figure variants do. (Like the Breakaway variant I just griped about in another thread.)

Because only the one labelled as Detour would be out of the ordinary. |

Sig pictures are to be no larger than 40KB in file size and should be no larger than 300 pixels in height and 500 pixels wide - 2005 Staff |

Who knows it might be worth something in the future as a unique collector's item. It may not be thousands of dollars, but you could still make a small profit out of it.
And even if its worth nothing, there's nothing to lose anyway.
If I come across one, I'll probably get it. |

Suggesting the option that it very well might be a very good Knock off... Quote:
