Doubt it. They'll probably be buried in peace with the rest of Jetfire.

I'm loving some of the G1-esque traits here. Megs and Screamer hating each other will be fun, but I actually really like how they quickly seem to both decide to retreat at the pyramid. And, I really like the apparent "Soundwave! Do something!" whenever they are stumped. I actually hope Soundwave doesn't come to Earth, it's just he is always up there... watching.

And it sounds like we come out of the movie with a cast who aren't mostly dead. That's nice, means they don't have to find some new way to revive them all in the 3rd movie. Is also going to make surrounding fiction a helluva lot easier to write, or, dare I even say it... a cartoon.

Prime sounds a lot more beefy than he was before.

Nice. This is definently sounding like a Transformers movie finally. This is going to be a fun ride come June.

As a HUGE reader of the novels of movies (seeing as I cannot understand 80% of what is said in movies/tv w/o closed captioning), I can honestly say only 60%- 70% of the book is in the movie and/or accurate. That's for the 'adult' novel. The Jr. novels are far less so. They, on average, are around 45% accurate.

While interesting, I take everything here with a gigantic grain of salt. I've read the X-Men movie novels, Resident Evil movie novels, Spider-Man movie novels, Punisher (2004), etc. All of those keep the basic plot going, but in most of them the dialog is expanded, and the action scenes are different. The only real exception being the Punisher novel, since if you watch the director's cut, it's VERY close to the novel.

Jetfire was on Earth rotting away from the Allspark, getting old, Optimus was always near the Allspark, rejuvenated to some effect.

    I guess :)

A few bits of lazy writing. It seems that SOME of that rogue script released a while back were true - including a human dying (tho it was Sam this time and not Mikaela) and a fight to the top of the pyramid.

Overall, its not as bad as the first. Tho I don't think Simmons working at a deli or having to involve the army dude's wife was really necessary. I can see the patriotic moment already at the army dude having to say bye to his daughter and wife and how beautiful they look and to be strong no matter what happens. I can also see those wacky shenanigans with Simmons and his mother working at the deli. Oh can you imagine the hilarity!

They mythos is what has me a little "eh" about this movie. There are tons of deus ex machinas that can do almost anything - including bringing people back to life. I think the ending is very lame too - Prime "powering up" with the Matrix" - seems like something a cartoon from the 80s meant for 5 year olds would have - not a mature movie.

Overall, the script seems to "flow" a little better than the first and thankfully they got rid of the "hackers" and the "president" who were completely superfluous in the first. However, the script uses a lot of "magic". Allspark fragment, Matrix, demigods almost, Jetfire being able to teleport, Fallen being able to open up wormholes, reincarnation, spirits of the Primes, etc. Thats just lazy writing. It takes away any sense of reality whatsoever as things could be explained away very cheaply. Akin to how two 5 year olds play with toys.

Its a perfect case of a popcorn movie. A heavy action oriented movie with lame plot. The action scenes are very forced - "battleship scene", "scene on top of a building with helicopter capturing moving shots", "Egyptian pyramids scene". Basically, the plot was woven around the action, not the other way around. There isn't even a need for the battleship scene except to create a giant action scene.

Personally, I think it boils down to 3 words: Better...Tech...Support:thumbs2:

The thing that amazes me about all of this is the degree of comments from folks that think this is b.s. The folks writing these novel aren't just pulling this stuff out of their butts. There is at least some, if not usually a good majority, of solid base to this.
I can't remeber if I saw it on this site or the other top TF site but I'm pretty sure someone has a sig. line that reads: "The truth doesn't care if you believe in it or not" and that is totally spot on.
Folks, we may not know the total degree of accuracy until opening day of the movie, but don't tell me it's all B.S. unless you have rock solid, verifiable/reliable proof that it's B.S. Until such time, as far as I'm concerned, your derisive comments mean less than squat.

that was cool, but it seems there's not as much involvement from the decepticons as i'd like. at least there's a shout out to the matrix though.

The ending sound anticlimatic - Megatron and SS bravely flee while the Fallen gets his head smashed in by "Jetfire Pants" Prime?

And once again following in the footsteps of the (shitty) Devil's Due GI JOe crossover, Devastator is defeated by humans.

I'm not even surprised that most of the Cons are hi-then-die characters. Soundwave most likely will spend the movie orbiting earth... Arcee is not even mentioned, or any other new autobots.

Not really keen on how they mish-mashed a lot of other popular movie plots and character types (Star Wars, Stargate, WALL-E) into TFs.

Ah well, it will be visually stunning, that's for sure. And more TF screentime then before.

Silly thing is, why did he had to sacrifice himself to give OP jet boosters? He could have asked Ratchet to cut off his legs. He can get new ones.

THis seems a forced attempt to give us some 'pathos' for the scene...

Funny thing is, in the fan-made script I wrote for the 2007 movie (after reading the leaked script and being very dissapointed) the same happens - the rebel Thundercracker gives Prime his thrusters which Wheeljack fits into a jetpack, so Prime can catch up with the rising Nemesis and stop it before it reaches orbit...

It's not just the engines that are used for combination.
