If that were true I would hunt down Cousin Larry and Balky to do the Dance of Joy with. But alas I don't think a Jetfire Reissue will be coming anytime soon.

The only way, and I mean the ONLY way we get a Jetfire reissue is if someone pays a BAZILLION dollars to each of the other Macross/Robotech license holders. Harmony Gold would need at least several dozen souls to even consider allowing another company distribution rights to any company distributing anything related to their supposed franchise, and then on top of it, payment of a body part for each one sold. Then, you'd have to go to Bandai, current holders of the mold, and pay them on top of it.

I'd guess a reissue Jetfire would cost, at retail, right around three hundred seventy-five dollars by the time everybody got their share out of it. Or more if you're not willing to leave an arm or leg at the cash register.

P.S. - I like writing "Macross/Robotech," because each time I do it sends several fanbois into a frothing rage. Good times.

My money is on a Starscream reissue. Soundwave was still on their shelves not too long ago and the price point I think was Starscreams the first time he was reissued if I'm not mistaken. Plus since the first Starscream reissue was out long before the movie and with undoubtably a surge in popularity from ROTF, it would make sense for them to reissue a G1 figure that's almost iconic as the Optimus Prime's that are currently clogging up the stores shelves.

Are you guys serious? A g1 jetfire re-issue in the US without harmony gold being paid with the souls of an entire amish township? I don't think so. Even Hasbro wouldn't want to get involved in that disaster of a licensing problem. It does beg the question though... "how does harmony gold still exist?" who really knows, but until they're gone, don't expect anything new or even old that has anything to do with macross/mospeada/southern cross/robotech to get released in the US, including g1 jetfire.

I didn't take it seriously, more like "this'd be the LONGEST shot reissue out of all of G1." We'd just as soon see, oh I don't know, BROWNING. :lol

Heh, I don't recall your specific post, but I saw a couple referring to a g1 jetfire re-issue and I seriously started just laughing here at my desk at work.

Oddly enough I went and did some checking on wtf harmony gold actually does to exist as a business, and it seems every year or two they either do some documentary for someone, or some crappy little movie no one has ever heard of. You'd think they'd just get off their asses and let the Macross stuff get distributed for a small fee in the US(better than the absolutely nothing they're getting now) and earn a lot more cash. But whatever, screw them, this isn't a discussion about them.

As for the g1 re-issue, it's probably soundwave or a couple of seekers in a set.

I live in an Amish township, I would gladly go harvest those souls personally if it meant we got that re-issue.

I referred to a G1 Jetfire reissue but meant it jokingly and not to be taken seriously. Note the Perfect Strangers reference. It may one day happen but I don't see it happening in my life time and I am not that old.

Dinobots reissue out of the question? Or have the molds been destroyed?

Their one of the few things that fit the pricepoint but haven't really seen reissues.

Would be nice to get a reissue grimlock and Sludge as set.

Pretty sure at some point someone somewhere said the molds for the dinobots were missing(stolen) or destroyed, makes sense if you think about it, otherwise grimlock would have been re-issued at some point already by now.

    Interesting...

But G1 reissues don't really do much for me anymore.

It should be officially announced at Botcon, if not on display at Hasbro's booth. The Prime reissue from last Xmas was announced that way.

How about G1 RoadBuster or Whirl as a set? Although I just recently bought both. My complete/minty/loose Whirl will be at my house tomorrow :)

Would be cool, but they weren't as popular as some transformers I suppose. It would kinda' fit the price range though. Better than some in here thinking it's going to be MP Grimlock :lol

Constructicons or Soundwave would make sense to me, since they're in the movie.

I believe that your idea would encounter the same problems a reissue "Jetfire" would.

RoadBuster and Whirl were not Takara molds. They were licensed by Hasbro from an other company just like Jetfire and a few others. And I dont think Hasbro would be interested in doing so again.

I'm thinking G1 Devastator on account of the new movie line didn't get a proper one (exept for the legends combiner).
