Lots of comparisons with the Hasbro Version.

IMO the Darker Grey looks Waaaayyyyyyy better then the lighter Hasbro paint job. Just looks way more awesome with the pink windows.

 

Glossiness reminds me of Alternity convoy. But it's not such a substantial difference to make me want to buy the Takara Version.

 

Eh, not that big of a deal, IMO.

i bet if they did something eith the red waist area people would shun the Hasbro version like a red-headed stepchild.

 

Looks slightly better, but not good enough to get this instead of the Hasbro version. If they had changed the red, window colors and added the black hood and roof, then it would have been a different story.

 

I think I like Hasbro's version better.

I'll stick with the Hasbro version. Just like Henkei, not worth the import price for a slight (albeit nice) change.

 

I'll be sticking with the Hasbro version. The difference isn't all that big, and I prefer the lighter, more silvery look of Hasbro's. Still, both versions are missing the black hood and roof that pretty much every other version of this character has, so I may end up either painting the first release, or waiting for the inevitable Premium repaint of him.

 

I like the darker color better as well. It helps to make him look different/opposite from Sideswipe even more.

By the way...maybe I am looking way too far into this, but wasn't Sideways an Autobot/Decepticon spy that worked for Unicron? Also, both Sideways and Sideswipe turn into silver sports cars and have names that start with Side-...any possibility that Sideswipe might actually be Sideways disguised to infiltrate the Autobots for the Fallen?

 

Hasbro's lighter version works better with the red in robot mode.

 

Not necessarily better, just different.

i do like hasbros better but if they added the black hood and roof and but the logo with the 4 little circles it would be much better and if you want proof look at the trailer pause it when he is and alt mode and you will see it is black but look closely and ironhide is black not grey and devastaor has more white with red stipes just to let you know that on the footage when is almost ending you will see prime with a gun.ichy ruchy rusty my arels

I like Takara's more. And I'm not just saying that because I believe Takara is superior, or anything. I just like the shade a lot better. Gun-metal gray or pewter color rocks.

 

And yet, no black hood/roof like he's SUPPOSED to have.
If they could paint the freakin' FAB and RPM versions properly, why the F couldn't they do the Deluxe version justice?! Hopefully a Premium version will fix this gross injustice.

 

Hmm, you sure about that? I don't remember the Audi R8 having a different colored roof, nor do I see he has it in the trailers (but then again, it's a night scene so I didn't really look that hard).

It was in my understanding that the deluxe is actually more accurate, and that they made differences to the FAB, RPM and RH items to..well, they're even MORE for kids, so I guess to make him different from Sideswipe.

 

Yeah, I don't know what he means either. None of the R8's that I've seen have had a black hood or top.

In the new ShoWest footage, it is pretty clear that Sideways has a black hood (with four thin stripes in the middle), and the FAB and RPM have this paint detail, but the Deluxe version doesn't.
