I'll take the blue over gray anyday!
I do like the weapons though.

 

Wow, I didn't know the henkei one had grey instead of blue, I like it alot better.

 

Universe > Henkei

The blue looks better than the gray.

Yeah Henkei "Hot Rod" may have the weaponry Hot Shot lacks, but JAAM license plate >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>missle launchers.

 

is Jolts copter tail assembled upside down? and looks good but imo the blue of the Hasbro version looks better

 

WOW! Hasbro wins another Henkei/Universe comparison. I like the blue just fine and Jaam wins by a mile. Way to go Hasbro, unfortunately its at the end of the line.

 

I like the blue better, I just really wish we got the guns...

 

There is some serious justification for buying both of these... I definitely prefer the blue of Universe, and of course JaAm, but then there's the launchers...

 

I really like my Hasbro version. The gray looks out of place.

 

every store in my area just has a rehash of animated waves and no universe toys. the voyager toys are still around but no deluxe at all. just a few cheetors warming the pegs at a few places. it seems weird that hasbros big push for animateds third season was not sending another line out and leaving shelves empty. i guess this gives me time to finally break down and fill holes in my henkeiverse. nerfatron maybe.

other then that yea i agree the hasbro's version does look much better, but the launchers are nice, too.

 

what i find neat about the two different hot shots is that the back bumper on the henkei one has a chunck of it cut out. which means you can't put the launchers on the hasbro one in vehicle mode, in fact, judgeing by that i don't think he was even planned to EVER get them.....

 

Ironic is not it, Hasbro finally get around to releasing the version with the superior colouring, but still come second place to the henkei version due to the lack of guns.

 

Hot Rod?

 

Personally, I like the charcoal black better. It doesn't clash with the yellow as much as the blue does. imo
Also, for me at least, the guns becoming the tailpipes is what makes this toy strangly go from "meh, that's kind of crap" to "huh, that's actually not bad."
Seems odd that Hasbro would skimp out on a spring loaded missile gimmick.

 

could someone repro these launchers? Hotshot actually looks good if he has weapons.

 

The blue makes it look like a cheap toy.

 

I like the Henkei one more. Gray looks better with the red and yellow, and if you take out the blue flame "missiles" in car mode, it looks like he has actual tail pipes. SWEET!
