ugh once again cartoon network RUINS yet another transformer show....has hasbro learned that cartoon network can not be trusted to air transformers, they favor crap over the good stuff.......i think nickelodeon should get it.....that way it will come on at a decent time lol

Yeah, same for me. :lol  Seriously, Genndy Tartakovsky, you're BETTER THAN THIS. This show sounds like it won't last (but it will, what with today's generation of kids).

    ZING! :lol :lol :lol

As for Cartoon Network's line-up of shows for this fall and in 2010...why aren't they dead yet? Hell, monkeys could write better stuff than these.

I don't think anybody from the official side of things has said anything. I believe it was somebody revealing the character models and backgrounds for TransWarped that said that.

    Actually, I'm fairly intellegent.

Forgive me for having an opinion that differs from yours. Not everyone see this news as bad.

Am I the only one who thinks that Genndy's new show is seriously just trying to steal TFA's thunder?

You just can't look at the robots and not think IRONHIDE! BLITZWING!

    Something-something-Titan.

Giant robots... with HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA!

    And blatantly TFA-ish designs.

The only reason I'll watch it is because I got that weird hope inside me that it'll be as good as Samurai Jack, but the blatant use of HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA as a plot point is more than disturbing.

Simple: They don't give a shit about the shows they air, or the viewers that watch them. They only care about dumping the next big thing on their channel and tossing the other shows to the side like yesterday's newspaper. In short, they just want money, and they'll stoop to the lowest of lows to achieve their goal.

*OFF-TOPIC RANT* What I don't get is how the hell Ben 10 Alien Force is so damn popular. I watched Ben 10, and I thought it was an okay show. Not the best superhero show, but not the worst. The aliens look neat, though, especially Upgrade. Ben 10 Alien Force is basically just Ben, Gwen, and Kevin driving around (in a green Camaro, no less :peoples: ), beating the shit out of these DNA aliens or whatever they're called. Oh sure, a few other characters that we're supposed to care about appear here and there, but they don't help much. And another thing that bugs me is that when Ben transforms into his alien alter-egos, do they REALLY need to say their names? I mean, the first time that happened, I figured Ben made up names for them and wanted to announce to the viewers what those aliens' names were. Well, that's fine, but saying the names for the aliens REPEATEDLY throughout the show is just downright stupid. YES, we know that you're Humongusaur, or Spidermonkey, or any other alien you have on that watch, we're not ******s.

IMO, Ben 10 Alien Force is to Ben 10 as was Beast Machines was to Beast Wars: An unnecessary sequel to a TV show that got great ratings in its time.

Hasbro has never come out and said "Transformers Animated is done". However, when we've contacted Hasbro, all they've said is "We cannot comment on Animated's future" or "No comment", as the original rumor news post states.

I will say this much though.

At BotCon 2007, myself and a few others got the opportunity to see and hold some of the test shot and resin prototypes of the first two waves of Transformers Animated. A year later at BotCon 2008, the wave one toys were just then becoming available for purchase as a test market run in Cincy.

That means that Animated was in design and production mode before the live-action movie was even released. The movie was released and did so well, that it took precadence over Animated, hence the figures not being released until late April early May of 2008 when they were originally scheduled to release along with the cartoon's premiere so more movie figures could be shoved down our throats.

Animated was then the on-going series while movie 2 was in development, so Animated was given enough of a green-light to keep something Transformers on the air and on the toy shelves until Movie 2 was released. But then we start hearing whispers that Animated is being concluded at Season 3, when I know for a fact the people involved really, REALLY wanted to do a Season 4, and were quite bummed to discover that they would not be working on a Season 4.

Now, the last we heard any whispers was back in early February. We haven't heard anything since. But what we have heard is that toys are being cancelled and then pushed back till later in 2009 ... and that some stores will not be carrying Animated, and those that will are going to be reduced to a single row of pegs (as opposed to the 9 to 15 pegs they currently have) in favor of the movie figures.

Now, if you're Hasbro, what do you do?

Do you green-light another season of Animated, which has absolutely zero ties to the actual movie, or do you start production on a side-movie series to run until the third movie comes out? Do you capitalize on the most successful boys product-line in your company's history, or do you go with Animated which, as much as we all love it, hasn't exactly been the most amazing Transformers series in terms of sales or ratings, at least, as far as the bigwigs are concerned?

Season 3 will end with a bang. There will be a conclusion of sorts, but with doors left open, as with the end of any Transformers series. But unless something dramatic has happened, I truly believe Transformers Animated is concluding with Season 3, and the toyline will conclude at the end of this year if not sooner.

And the only thing we really have to blame is the movie :)

And, for the record, Animated cannot shift to another network. You guys must be blissfully unawares that the character designs on the animation end are Cartoon Network employees. And that the entire show is labeled with Cartoon Network Studios, and all those leaked animation designs all have that lovely "CARTOON NETWORK" logo on the sheets.

That's like if Transformers went defunct and Hasbro decided not to release anything for a few years and someone suggesting Mattel could release some toys.
