Sounds like he won't be voicing Soundwave in RotF. Oh well.

    Cool interview.

And now, my friends, prepare for ROTF Soundwave shitfest!

I'm honestly not a fan of Welker. People treat him like a God but his TF voices are easily replicated by others.

I would hardly call this interview "epic", regardless. Just him answering questions, not really giving any insight to anything, the usual interview stuff.

He will probably be voicing Soundwave in the game or even Wheelie.

Plus was there a rumor or was there not that Welkers "Ravage" would be used for the Movie interpretation of the same character?

Great stuff, looking forward to part 2. :thumb

Activision should give him an MP Megs to restart his TF collection! :D

Any cartoon voice can be "replicated" by SOMEONE out there. That doesn't negate the talent of the originator of it.

Can all of those people out there doing a Dr. Claw or Jabberjaw/Slimer voice actually...*act* as well as Welker, or cover the rest of his entire range? Nope. There's more to voice ACTING than just doing the funny voices.

I think this is about the third or fourth time in the past 2-3 years that Welker has confirmed that he has no Megatron figures. We *seriously* need to get a donation pool together for him... and Cullen. At the very least, they deserve the Masterpiece, G1 Encores, and Classics/Henkei versions of their iconic characters sitting on their desks. Maybe throw in some Robot Heroes & Revoltechs for good measure. :)

And I'm completely serious. I'd be more than happy to donate some cash if a legitimate effort to do something like that was made.

you are aware of his vocal talents beyond Transformers don't you?

The gentlemen has done more voice overs for TV and Film than pretty much anyone. Also he is the master of animal noises and other things that sound so genuine you wouldn't believe it was coming from him.

Nice interview. I'm surprised he hasn't been asked to do Soundwave's voice for ROTF, but oh well... at least he did Megs' voice in the games.

Glad that he now realizes that we all love him for what he's done in G1.

I think it's funny that he states that at no time did he actually get to walk in and audition for the Transformers movie ... if I read that right, at least. That he sent in something and they basically said "Yeah, no" and kind of didn't really give him the time of day.

    Sad.

Hell, if anything, the sheer range and number of voices he's done over his career should be enough to impress you. Yeah, there are people who can imitate a number of his voices, but you try and find me a single person who can do ALL of them. He's been doing voicework steadily for nearly 40 years, I think he's earned the accolades.

And as to insight, this interview portion was mainly about the movie, and some more general questions on his voice acting career. You might find the next segment more interesting.

Seriously, this makes me not want to see the 2nd movie even more. I know I'll be blasted for being a "Geewunner" but Everytime I see Megs or read a comic with a G1 Megs in it, in my head it's Frank Welker talking. He's the original and everyone else needs to respect that.

I was watching something on Boomerang and they showed a 3 Stooges cartoon. Welker was the villian. He used his Megatron voice. It was awesome!

They might not have wanted his voice because they wanted different sounds for the movie Transformers. Personally I don't think Franks voice would have suited movie Megatron.
