It's the next piece of prose fiction from the collector's club. It's set in the Shattered Glass Universe (same as BotCon 2008).
Thank you for the notice! I just finished reading it! It was really well written! The Predacons were great, and Whisper was hilarious! I also loved the reference to Optimus Primal's line from Beast Wars! Shattered Glass Nightbeat speaking as Edward G. Robinson was also hilarious! You know, I've always hated alternate and mirror universe ideas, but the Shattered Glass universe is the first time, I've actually, honestly liked and enjoyed the idea. Reading this story really makes me appreciate the 2008 set even more. I'll be looking forward to the next tale!
Printing. I love Shattered Glass stories, but they make me feel evil. I still want the Autobots to win!
So, how diferent are the Preds from SG? Are we talking "holier-than-thou" knights like BW Silverbolt type?
No. Razorclaw is presented as a brilliant teacher and philosopher. Rampage and Divebomb are his students. Both the cat and eagle are young, but happily, neither of them are dumb. Both are quite capable of fighting, and thinking strategically. After each battle, Razorclaw questions his students to see what they have learned. Their replies are phrased as proverbs, with Razorclaw then revealing what he had wanted them to learn after hearing their answers. It seems that Shattered Glass Razorclaw also has similarities to BW Optimus Primal! Razorclaw quotes him at one point, and I thought it was great! They're very well written, and I'd love to see more of them! I'd like to see more of Whisper too! He was hilarious!
Me too. I joined in April of '07 so I missed Breakaway. I have since aquired Skyfall, and Landquake. It be lovely if the put Breakaway on sale for $8 also here.
The re-purposing of toys in these stories is amusing.... particularly the re-branding of certain out-of-place, AEC-style figures (who were ostensibly part of the Movie line) as Shattered Glass characters.
