Uh, yeah. I'm not sure that's how the combined Jetfire is supposed to look. The dude couldn't even get Jetfire's robot mode right.

I've tried a few different combinations with my Prime and Jetfire, and nothing really looks like anything.
My brother did have an intersting idea, though: maybe Jetfire merely "latches on" to Prime's back while in jet mode, giving Optimus some flight capabilities. Maybe there is no super-complex combination at all.

Jetfire's "robot" mode in that image is his combining position, look carefully

I was looking at Jetfire with his funny legs and long arms and I wondered if Optimus sits in his embrace like he's sitting in a NASA eva pack.

holding Jetfire's spindly arms as control points and perhaps resting his legs on Jetfire legs like Jetfire is a flying exo-skeleton for Optimus.

Rather than Jetfire just slapping on his back.

Hopefully Prime will look better in person, because in all the photos I've seen thus far his proportions are simply goofy.

they should just call jetfire jetpack cause that's what he'll be when they "combine". it's just gonna be a stupid gimmick that i'm sure bay and co. thought of at the last minute.
