Hey that looks like Star Convoy's trailer. I wonder if this one will do more than just be a G1 styled Classics trailer, maybe turn into armor parts or modular armor/jetpack/weaponry components.
we say prototype pics of this along time ago (I think) and from them it wasnt anything else than a trailer that opened up and all that good stuff
That was FansProject's Classics trailer prototype. This one looks really interesting, especially due to the shape of the trailer itself. Looking forward to what sort of gimmicks it has.
I was afraid of this - groups making unofficial TF accessories competing against each other by making products with largely similar goals and uses. While choice is good, more different stuff is better
Well, one good thing is if FansProject does make their Classics Trailer, there is a chance that there might be at least one trailer that is affordable for people. Like with City Commander, there were people who couldn't afford it due to the price. So maybe BestToys might make a cheaper Classics trailer, and people will be able to buy it if the other is too expensive. Also looking at the silhouette, both trailers are already different. BestToys is going for their own design(maybe based of StarConvoy), while FansProject's teaser indicated it was staying with the classic look. BestToy's Roller looks simple compared to the one shown on FansProject's teaser, which indicated it had a gimmick.
Yeah - they aren't really "competing against each other" per say, I'd say. More like that fan interest in custom sets like this has increased, making all these new projects more viable. City Commander owes a lot to that, as he showed just what you could do with a fankit.
So it appears that the triple axles on the trailer become Roller, instead of him being stored inside. Interesting idea! zmog
Sorry for taking long, I couldn't find the image on my PC. Firebird from the Allspark helped post another copy over there. This teaser is around a year old now. So there is a chance they made some progress at least since then.
It's based on Star Convoy, I believe. On that toy, the rear battery operated tread unit was removable and essentially became Roller.
Wasn't there word that they may have done a Powermaster one? Is this the link on the first page made by FansProjects, kinda unsure with the "Best Toys" plastered everywhere.
Ah... that's interesting. I don't know much about Star Convoy besides that he was a giant brick and had really cool box art. Nonetheless, as an upgrade for a G1 style Prime, it's a good idea to use for Roller. zmog
Looks like it folds out into a base and has the motorized gimmick from Star Convoy as mentioned above. Strange that they say, "Who is it?", though. Aside from the possibility of bad grammar/translation. This is firmly in "pass" for the moment because of the spacing... Doesn't really look like a trailer. Without a mighty-cool gimmick, it's staying in "pass".
