That's kind of lame. Most people don't even know there's going to be a sequel, they should at least do a teaser to get it out there. Keeping it in the dark as long as possible will only make people lose interest, and keep others from getting interested.
As for the lack of leaks, it's probably because they learned their lesson after all the whining and raped childhoods from last time.

Well, I'm pretty much giving up on a trailer coming out this year. Hopefully, there'll be one by Feburary or March.

Well there are a few ways to look at the lack of marketing, this is the way I see it. To those of us in 'the know' we are already gonna watch it. The fandom just likes to see new stuff(like movie trailers) as much as possible. For the people who liked TF:TM but don't know about a sequel they'll know soon enough. It's not like Botcon where people would like to know the date so they can take vacation time for it, it's a summer movie that will do just as well, if not better than the first. Saving money on marketing makes sense to me, even though the fan in me wants to see a trailer like 10 minutes ago

I think the whole idea of taking it easy on the marketing is dumb if for no other reason than all of the record hits the first movie's trailers got. Tho I can understand that they may not have as much footage ready to go for a trailer yet given the short amount of time they've had to work on this.
