IDW February 2009 Solicitations

Comics Continuum: IDW Publishing for February

Quote:
THE TRANSFORMERS: ALL HAIL MEGATRON #8

Written by Shane McCarty, art by Guido Guidi, covers by Trevor Hutchison and Casey Coller.

The crisis on Cybertron escalates as the Autobots are in a race for their lives against the Swarm! Could this be it? It's a pulse-pounding issue as the identity of the traitor is finally revealed and not all of the Autobots survive the experience.

32 pages, $3.99.

THE TRANSFORMERS: ALL HAIL MEGATRON TPB, VOL. 1

Written by Shane McCarthy, art by Guido Guidi and Casey Coller, cover by Trevor Hutchison.

One year after the Revelation saga, the Decepticons have won the war against the Autobots and stand triumphant on Earth. The full force of the U.S. military is brought to bear on Megatron and his warriors, but will it be enough to turn the tide? And what of the missing Autobots?

152 pages, $19.99.

THE TRANSFORMERS: MAXIMUM DINOBOTS #3

Written by Simon Furman, art by Nick Roche, covers by Roche and Marcelo Matere.

In what's left of Fallon, Nevada, the warring Dinobots call an uneasy truce (though Grimlock still has some tough questions to answer)... just in time for Scorponok's Headmaster legions to strike! It's all part of a grand plan many years in the making, as Hot Rod is now only too painfully aware. Also, enter: Sunstreaker!

32 pages, $3.99.

THE TRANSFORMERS: REVELATION TPB

Written by Simon Furman, art by E.J. Su, Nick Roche and Dan Khanna, cover by Su.

Following the events of The Transformers: Devastation, long-lost Cybertronians are returning from a dead dimension with plans to set off a cosmic event that could mean the end of the universe as we know it. Can the Autobots retrieve an all-knowing, all-seeing artifact before the coming apocalypse, despite having a double agent in their midst? But would that even save them from Nemesis Prime's master plan? Originally presented in Spotlights featuring Cyclonus, Hardhead, Doubledealer and Sideswipe.

104 pages, $17.99.

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN MOVIE PREQUEL: DEFIANCE #2

Written by Chris Mowry, art by Dan Khanna, covers by Josh Nizzi and Alex Milne.

The second official prequel to this summer's Transformers movie continues! Megatron finds himself the sole possessor of an ancient artifact with historical ties to Cybertron. Wounded in battle and near death, Megatron inadvertently activates the relic, setting the stage for repercussions that will be forever felt in the Transformers universe.

32 pages, $3.99.

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN MOVIE PREQUEL: ALLIANCE #3

Written by Chris Mowry, art by Alex Milne, cover by Milne and Josh Nizzi.

The official prequel to this summer's Transformers movie continues! Caught off-guard by a surprise attack, the newly formed alliance of Autobots and humans must fight as one to combat a new Decepticon threat. But with the Autobot forces spread thin across the planet, are the Decepticons preparing for another attack, or for something else entirely?

32 pages, $3.99.

TRANSFORMERS BEST OF THE UK: CITY OF FEAR #1

Written by Simon Furman, art by Dan Reed, cover by Andrew Griffith.

The living dead have overrun a city on Cybertron, which happens to be the location of an Autobot base. Ultra Magnus and his small crew must team with a captured Decepticon just to have a chance of survival.

32 pages, $3.99.

THE TRANSFORMERS: WAR WITHIN OMNIBUS

Written by Simon Furman, art and cover by Don Figueroa.

Before Stormbringer, before the Beast Wars, before even Generation One, there was... The War Within. Four million years before the Transformers came to Earth, civil war rocks their home world of Cybertron, and Optimus Prime faces his first -- and greatest -- challenge. If you think you know the Transformers... think again!

312 pages, $19.99.

Don't know about G1 Volume 3. Regarding the WWI Omibus, I'm guessing it's likely a collection of all published War Within comics from the 3 (err....2 and a half) volumes.

G1 vol 3 is due in March, with the Beast Wars Omnibus.

The WW Omnibus is likely to be only the first 2 volumes. The Amazon description mentions "12 part series".

It's Tim Formas's addition to the G1 universe, he won a contest to create a new character back in 2004. Cool eh?

That may or may not be true.

Damn if I knew that was coming out I wouldn't have spent twice as much on the first 2 volumes :/

Maybe the "Ation" series will get some resolution in the Maximum Dinobots
