Dirge looks OK, though the wings and canards come off kinda awkward in robot mode. The wing deco is a little over-the-top too, but the total package is pretty nice. Thrust looks like a total failure to me, unless those VTOL fans can be unpegged from the tail and moved to the wings. (looks like they probably can, if having holes completely through the wings is any indication.)
If availability and price were not factors (too bad they are, eh?) I'd say Botcon wins on both counts, even with Dirge being a simple repaint there.  How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end | |

Now bring on Trailbreaker, Jazz, and Wheeljack! | If you guys look at the VTOL engines, there is a peg like protrusion in the middle of the fan. That would allow you to put the VTOL on the top of the wings, and the bottom of the wings in robot mode as well. Look at the holes in the main wings, the holes are right through them. Makes sense.
BTW, I preordered through Bodhar. I missed out on Botcon seekers, but I am taking advantage of these!! Who cares about the decos on the wings? Be glad we have a chance to own them! (No offense to the Botcon owners is intended) The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one. | |
