It's somewhat amusing to me to note that no-one bitched about exclusives being so evil before the BC07 set. As has been stated many times before, Hasbro considered Classics a filler line with a limited lifespan. They didn't have any plans to continue the line at the time the Botcon exclusives were decided on.
I think that part of the problem a lot of people who have the Botcon set (myself included) have isn't that these figures are available; most of us are pleased that they are. I personally fully support Hasbro putting all 3 out over here.
No; what we don't like is that we were willing to pay for the figures we have, and those who aren't won't stop moaning about it.
There have been times in the past when I have actually felt guilty for owning them. Fuck that. I paid for them, and I'm going to enjoy them.
Whinge at a group of people long enough, and they will turn round and tell you to shut the fuck up. (that's a metaphorical "you", by the way. No-one jump on it and claim that I'm singling them out).
The whole $7.77 thing, for example. This is a sale price for one chain of stores in one country on the planet. The US has the lowest retail prices for TFS anywhere; in Japan, Deluxes ARE $30. They're not far off that here in the UK. And other countries pay even more for theirs.
It's nothing more than a false sense of entitlement.
Well. You know what toys we are "entitled" to, folks?
The ones we actually buy. That is all. | Personally, i wish it had been $6.66 and that if you bought three at once you would get a free glow in the eyes rush and your head would shrink or explode..no choice...one of the two happens...then people could actually have something to pitch a bitch about...
It comes down to what you want you have to be willing to spend your $$$ on...just like cars folks...come people buy and drive old volks beetles and some folks drive brand new porches....
both will get you from Point A to Point B in the road of life...one just cost alot more....you ultimately get what you spend the $$ for...
Personally, I missed out doing the botcon thing in 2007...due to other vacation plans...so never ordered the set....
WARNING...NON BITCHING DISCLAIMER....
And i was not willing to spend what the seekers get now on the secondary market so hell ya i will jump on these two...But UNLIKE most...i have REFORMED...last year i bitched and fumed internally about these seekers...but finally figured...screw it, not worth being pissed off about...
Plastic crack can kill Fan Boys if not taken in safe doses.... |

Certain others in here could learn from that. | Same to you. I too have always respected your opinion, even though you can get harsh at times. And I have always felt that you and everyone else has always had the right to defend their purchase. But where's the line drawn between defending your POV and intentionally running down the other side of the argument? Or in this case, intentionally stirring shit up? I mean, honestly, even you have to admit that this thread was absolutely fine until you-know-who came in and stirred things up with his usual rant. There was no fighting or arguing going on here at all. He could've simply commented on Henkei Dirge and Thrust, or said nothing at all, and left things well enough alone. Everybody else seems to have to let it go at last(compared to a year or so ago anyway). Why can't he? In an age desperate for a hero, comes a man...

But, the point is the toys are more expensive in Japan, and you are absolutely right. |

Classics was a dead line and the Franchise Exploded with The movie line.
You call HASBRO doing what is best for their bottom line and not taking a horrible risk by to please a sub-set of adults that make up a tiny percent of the fandom a 'SCREW-UP' and 'Miscalculation'. You also say that letting Botcon make those figures a screw up. I see no such screw ups. Botcon 2007 was not a mistake and Hasbro did what was best for them by not releasing 6 of the same mold to retail before the franchise could support it.
Because you take this POV, that somehow all 6 seekers should have been retail US releases makes me question your understanding of the situation and your motivation. You are simply taking the position of 'screw Hasbro and FP, and they should make POOR decisions that harm the franchise to please me personally'. And I dislike that opinion in all it's selfish forms that exist in this fandom.
I am glad that they have been able to get all 6 seekers made for both markets in some form with the understanding that the market for these characters are adult collectors so the company doesn't have to release pegwarming trash in order to fulfill adult's toylust. And if it means expensive exclusives and import fees, than so be it because those are collectors costs and do not harm the people releasing the exclusives. I wouldn't want GANBO to be forced to buy 10000 of these things in order to have the price be equivalent with other retails just to please some people and hurt future low-run models that may not ever exist anyway else. The network will feature content from Hasbro's rich portfolio of entertainment and educational properties, and content from Discovery's extensive library of award-winning children's educational programming, as well as programming from third-party producers.
There will be no "Transformers: Buckets of Blood".

Personally, I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope these figs get Uni2.0 releases too. Maybe a 2 pack boxed set. That'd be terrific.
I haven't bought any Henkei figs yet and hope I can avoid opening that can of worms. My OCD will kick in something ferocious the second I get my hands on just one of them. Seeing a few of them in person at a local store was a very tough situation for me... |

But, the point is the toys are more expensive in Japan, and you are absolutely right. | Until the exchange rate collapsed with the financial crisis, Australia was paying some of the highest prices in the world for Transformers.
