3. Let's see, some people don't like how the Henkei versions turned out, prefer the Botcon ones, but hate the very high aftermarket price for them. Yeah, I don't see a problem here. Just a matter of personal taste.
4. Haven't been in Wal-Mart in awhile have you? They've been pricing ALL the deluxes, Universe AND Animated, at $7.77. Can't argue with a $7 Acid Storm | awesome..finally some folks are tired of the pro-botcon-er's bashing people all the time if they do not completely bow and worship the botcon exclusive set prices.... s: |

It's not all of them bashing, just a couple actually. I've noticed that it's really just a few people on both sides that keep coming back and having circular arguments in the threads over and over that make it look like a bigger problem than it actually is. |

And People crying about aftermarket are foolish. Not to mention I have seen Botcon 2007 sets pop up every once in a while for almost original price. Frankly people get bored with them, the box takes up space, things change.
People ducked on the Botcon set because they thought 50$ per deluxe was too expensive and now they are going to pay more than that for these. Quote: |

| You mean where they said they were releasing the RAINMAKERS and not the original 3 seekers? Because we now have like 4 Starscreams, 3 Dirges and we don't need another TC? Quote: |

| You don't have the right to anything you want. If the Henkei versions are that bad then don't get them. Those who wanted the BC ones for reasonable costs could have gotten them by now but anyone looking now are those unreasonable crybabies who thought that they could say "SCREW BOTCON! Look at my perfect Henkei Seekers".
We all knew 2 years ago that any japanese release would not be a cheaper alternative to botcon. Which is why many people picked up aftermarket BC for reasonable costs (I have had multiple chances to get the set at 300$ which is not expensive, many threads of people who couldn't find buyers' Quote:

But that is Acid Storm. No one deserves or should expect to get 7.77$ thundercracker or dirge. We don't need the same figure redone for a 3rd or 4th time in a 6 month period. Some of us want new seekers like the rainmakers and this "OMFG RETAIL BOTCON SEEKERS" is a pretty selfish and destructive attitude to have when the Henkei Figures have been exactly what people have been asking for. Especially when they release a colelctors exclusive and they want people to buy multiples of a figure, they should be 'different'. If it was the exact same, they would lose sales from many shoppers. IE: chrome, Anime colors and other details. Quote: |
Pretty much what I was inferring. This thread was perfectly fine until he decided to come in and throw gas on the embers. Is it really any wonder some people in this fandom resent or even hate everyone that owns the '07 set when some of them act like that? All it takes is one or two bad apples to paint a bad picture on everybody else.
| Says the leaky gas-can himself. You have been spewing Botcon hate for many a thread. Everyone says 'HENKEI Seekers are good, go buy them' and still people say 'I HATE YOO I demand PERFECT THRUST.'
I expect companies to do what is best for the bottom line, not what is best for a small set of fans who have poor judgement skills and unreasonable expectations. Which is why I think any US retail releases should be new characters instead of wasting them on retail releases of any botcon or Henkei paintschemes. Once I get Sunstorm, Rainstorm and Go-bot Leader 1 and possibly Starscream's ghost (clear), I see no valid reason to re-re-release an existing paint app. And that sounds like exactly what Hasbro believes too. I'm not saying that to be snarky and combative to you. I simply don't like exclusives at all. So that aspect doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm sure it bothers others. But it's not something I feel the need to worry about. |

And, how can you post about wanting anything? You, when one of your favorite putdowns is " But I WAAAAANT IT!"
Something about a pot and kettle comes to mind here. |

But we live in a collector oriented time and exclusivs will come and for some it will be impossible to get them due to high demand and high price. Ppl dont have to like it but they need to accept that this is the way it is these days.
then if you want to buy them or not that totaly up to you

I do not hate Botcon, nor do I hate any of the exclusives FP has done. I do not begrudge other folks here having the '07 set. Hell, I'm happy for them. I don't hate FP, but I don't nessecarily agree with the way they do some things. For the record, I have never liked that they charge non-attendees the same price as attendees for the exclusives. At first I didn't, but I have since agreed that it is fair, but by no means do I have to like it. I don't have to like anything about FP or their exclusives at all. And it is not your job to try to convince me or anyone else otherwise. And btw, have you ever paid a lot of money for a TF you really didn't like? 'No' right? Who would?
You wanna know what I do hate though? I hate that Hasbro screwed up/miscalulated, whatever you wanna call it, and gave the remaining seekers to FP. I hate that so much importance has been lumped onto FP exclusives that they've actually become some kind of status symbol among the fandom, especially the '07 set. And I really hate that *some* people who own them feel it gives them the right to judge and belittle others and force their opinion down their throats every freaking chance they get.
That's what I hate. In an age desperate for a hero, comes a man...
Strong, lightning fast, and unyielding in his fight for good... |

I can respect your opinion, because you are willing to listen to what people say and put counter arguments in an intelligent way; a lot of others in this thread don't bother. Kudos. Certain others in here could learn from that.
It's somewhat amusing to me to note that no-one bitched about exclusives being so evil before the BC07 set. As has been stated many times before, Hasbro considered Classics a filler line with a limited lifespan. They didn't have any plans to continue the line at the time the Botcon exclusives were decided on.
I think that part of the problem a lot of people who have the Botcon set (myself included) have isn't that these figures are available; most of us are pleased that they are. I personally fully support Hasbro putting all 3 out over here.
No; what we don't like is that we were willing to pay for the figures we have, and those who aren't won't stop moaning about it.
There have been times in the past when I have actually felt guilty for owning them. Fuck that. I paid for them, and I'm going to enjoy them.
Whinge at a group of people long enough, and they will turn round and tell you to shut the fuck up. (that's a metaphorical "you", by the way. No-one jump on it and claim that I'm singling them out).
The whole $7.77 thing, for example. This is a sale price for one chain of stores in one country on the planet. The US has the lowest retail prices for TFS anywhere; in Japan, Deluxes ARE $30. They're not far off that here in the UK. And other countries pay even more for theirs.
It's nothing more than a false sense of entitlement.
Well. You know what toys we are "entitled" to, folks?
The ones we actually buy. That is all. |

That being said, don't feel guilty at all about purchasing them. It is not your fault that the people who didn't get the Botcon seekers are complaining. You enjoy them, just like I will enjoy the Henkei seekers. I AM taking advantage of the Japanese market putting these figures out. I am not missing out on Dirge and Thrust. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one. |
