I'm holding out hope that Hasbro will release a slight repaint (non-chrome with a few varying apps) of these under the Universe line. I realize that these are Japanese exclusives and they'll never be mass released here in the states, but just like they'll be re-releasing Starscream as a Universe recolor, perhaps Dirge, Thurst, or even Thundercracker will get that type of treatment.

I would also prefer Thrust having black wings instead of dark gray. The final product may vary from the picture, but the Botcon version looks better from my point of view. I see the remolding of the wings as a modern update in the Classics tradition. However it is odd that Takara has to make a new mold for an exclusive product, making it quite costly. This is reflected in the higher price tag over Thundercracker and Skywarp. the stores may not sell as many Thundercrackers because these cone heads are less popular and cost more.

and who said the wings don't rotate up? the hinges are present, after all, so it seems logical. i just suspect the thrust pic is mistransformed on purpose w/out the VTOLS attached so people don't raise a stink.
and FTR, i really like the longer wings on Thrust, as compared to the stubby ones on the botcon set... it just seems more.... airplane-ish.

-A.S. | Look more closely - Thrust's wings are fixed to his torso on the bottom part as well, you can see the two small knobs in robot mode.
Btw - just a quick photoshop work on how Thrust would look like with the VTOLs attached to the main wings' underside in robot mode: 
And btw - Thrust is better this way, in gray, as opposed to the black of the Botcon version. The original G1 toy AND the cartoon model were gray as well.
Frankly, I like that they used a lighter grey for Dirge and Thrust then for Ramjet - in the cartoons, Ramjet's face/body was almost black, compared to the other two Coneheads.
