Most likely she'll be a new character and I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't even had a name other then 'Alice'. Knowing Bay and co, I doubt she'll be long-lived - that prop we saw crashed into the windscreen is probably her corpse after Bumblebee runs her over or what. (oh and BTW, way to go BB, spray goo on her to warn Sam she's a Con - you forgot you can talk now?)
Quite frankly I'm all for the Pretender returning, but without mass-shifting (which, again, is no more implausible then the self-regenerating metal the Bayformer TFs are made of) it'll feel odd. The technology could be used in two ways:
-Pretender Shells act as exo-skeletons for regular-sized TFs, providing abilities and protection which a metallic robot doesn't have, like cellular regeneration and built-in repair function for the inner robot (Finback had such an ability), excretion of organic materials (acid spitting, poison etc...) or resistance to elements (EMP shielding for example). In many ways, the TFs use shells like us humans (would) use robotic exo-skeletons - we need mechanics to compensate our flaws, they need organics (as
BM Primal would say). I can totally see some Decepticons arriving from other planets they are conquering using outer shells based on the most fearsome aliens to strike fear into their opponents, so guys like Bugly or the Monster Pretenders would be totally believable.
-Small human-like pretender shells for infiltration - like Alice here. The trick to pull this off however, is to have the hints showing the she/he is not human small and obscure. I know I'm referencing my own movie idea again, but I worked this out pretty well with agent Jensen - you generally suspect he might be working for the Cons, but you think he's in it for the power or the money and only find out he's no longer human in the last part of the 'movie'.
