Those early profiles are still some of the most articulate and distinct characters I've seen developed on any toy line, and it's honestly probably 85% of why I love Transformers today.
However you rate his actual comic-writing on the series, his initial character work makes his contribution to the property of Transformers is pretty much carved in stone. And inlaid with gold.
