For as often as Bay can come off as an egomaniac, I don't see anything about his comments here to warrant a negative backlash. In fact. I'm a little surprised TFW would allow such a misleading news headline. Not only did he *not* say "I don't support it" (he said "I don't support it - yet"), but that little fraction of a (mis)quote was taken completely out of context to his overall statement as a whole.

If you're talking about the title of this thread it was not created by a staff member. The front page story written by TFW is titled Michael Bay Comments on the Transformers Ride.

Bay is a dumbass and one cocky sob. I understand being mad for being misquoted, but Hasbro owns Optimus Prime. Not that prick. Prime will show up anywhere Hasbro and Universal damn-well please.

Oh and also, I wish this ride was coming to the Island of Adventures in florida. I think it would have been an awesome environment considering the Superhero themed park. Hopefully the ride will eventually make an east coast appearance, 'cause I honestly don't wanna go to cali to ride it. Maybe when SDCC is going down, I might consider that because I have more than one reason to kick it that way.

Yeah, I typed 'post' when I meant to type 'allow'. Either way, I know TFW didn't make the thread - I was just surprised they've allowed the current title to remain is all.

You also get flipped off by an old lady and get to try and bust her in the head with a rock :p

And what is up with that pic of MB on the front page for this? His head looks out of proportion with his body.

Eh, not really. I don't think people missed the point, so much as got drawn to the rest of Bay's little rant. Yeah, we all understand him being mad about getting misquoted. (Seriously, all responses directly about the misquote/lie are of people totally getting where he's coming from.) It's more about him being angry about it than just some kind of mistake.

But as much as we know how big of an ego he has, we can't help but comment on some of the really dumb things he's going to say. And I'm sorry (no I'm not), but that particular line BEGS to be taken apart.

In closing, Michael Bay drew us off his original point. Totally his fault.

It's Michael Bay which means it really isn't important anyway.

I was unaware that the director of a movie owned the rights to the property. HAHA. I am glad he is taking it personal. That shows he is involved in the art and life of the movie!!!!

Bay's built up enough negatives over the years that pretty much anything he does or says at this point will get some sort of negative backlash. The guy could cure AIDS, cancer, and world hunger all the same day and still find some way to come off as a jerk.

Why is Michael Bay complaining about someone taking the Transformers franchise in a different direction? Isn't that what he did? Didn't he tell all the fanboys to basically shut up as well?

I actually appreciate that he seems to really have connected with the character of Optimus Prime, as opposed to when he first started working on the first movie. it gives me hope that he may really try and develop Optimus Prime if he really does see them as more than just a dumb toy cartoon that he's turning into a movie.

No that is why he DOESN'T support the ride. He would have supported it if it blew up a couple of TransFans at the end. :p

Besides he doesn't need to endorse it, it isn't HIS property.

    This.

The king of jackassy comments in complaining about being misquoted? He should only be so lucky if some of the tripe he spouts was misquotes.

He's riding the TF money train harder than anyone else. Now he gives a flying F' about the franchise? He should have worried about respecting Pearl Harbor before worrying about "respecting" a bunch of plastic robots.

Him and Don Murphy have to be the biggest douchebags on this mudball.

    Them and mimes.
