I honestly would have rather had Animated go on hiatus, but I guess with that being the toyline with the show, its the one they kept. G1 Shockwave parts wanted. :) My collection, newer pics in mid of first page |

Hmm, yea sounds like a corporate euphemism to me. We don't think of him as being dead, just not with us for an extended period. Sure Universe will be on hiatus, permanent hiatus. Maybe I'll be wrong, but I'll be surprised if I'm not. Heaven forbid we have three different lines at the same time, like we never had Alternators, Titanium, and Classics, or Titanium, Movie, and Classics or Movie, Universe, and Animated, oh no can't have anything like that.

Maybe a hiatus is a good thing, as when Classics 3.0 comes out, we will probably have superior toys. The main thing lacking is paint apps at this point. Seems to me that Hasbro will return with Classics 3.0 after the movie, featuring a cast of fan favorites that did not make the cut for the first 2 Classics lines. Maybe even all new gestalt molds. Brand recognition and demand for combiners will be higher next year due to the Constructicons being in the movie, and I imagine if the toy lines do well next year as most of us think, we will finally get all new gestalts. Plus you act like Titanium and Alternators where normal lines. http://www.tfwiki.net - I'm a pepper! Wouldn't you like to be a pepper, too?

They could do both simultaneously by maybe adding select 2007 Premium movie, reworked, or a couple 25th anniversary (in the vein of Cheetor) toys to the Universe line. Then maybe they could justify some shelf space. I definitely would like to see more diversity in stock rather than molds that will gather dust. | The thing that gets me is that the Universe new mold bots are (mostly) realistic looking vehicles, I don't know why Hasbro wouldn't want them alongside the movie line bots which just happen to BE realistic vehicles.
Anyway whatever, I guess I just have time to save up for whatever future Universe releases there'll be, I just hope I don't lose interest with such a long gap inbetween purchases is all. My feedback |

Hasbro: Universe will be put on hold when the movie toys come out (although we will likely have a few new toys out in Universe as retailer exclusives). But Animated will continue with certain key assortments alongside of the new Movie toys. But we don't think of Universe being done, just on hiatus. | Sounds like I'll be saving money for a while again.... Quote: TFW2005: Will there be an Omega Supreme toy for Animated?
Hasbro: Not in the near future. In order to do Omega Supreme justice, it would need to be Leader or Supreme Class. And we typically only launch those as new molds in the fall. With the Movie coming out this summer, the higher priced toys will be in the Movie line. But we do love the way he turned out and would love to see him in the line.
| I guess it kind of has to be this way, but it's frustrating to see cool ideas not get expression because of the movie line, which I'll almost certainly be passing on entirely (as I more or less did with the first movie line). Like someone else mentioned above its going to be hard for me to maintain my interest in a year without purchases. I just wish they would have instead chose to cut Universe releases down to a minimum, not a complete stall. |
