Just for the record...this is one US fan whom didn't like the 2007 movie either...for the reasons you listed plus others...the only good thing about the movie was Peter Cullen's voice and Blackout...

Back on topic...if this is cancellation is true and does happen hopefully it won't hurt the series here in the states...worst case you UK fans can always order the figures online...

IIRC, Hasbro U.K. don't have any control over the U.K. rights to the cartoon... In which case they have their work cut out for them. Very short sighted on the part of Hasbro as a whole. The toys are moving around here, but they're not flying off the shelves either,
and Argos did have a 25% off sale on Animated a month back.

I'm guessing the Animated line is scheduled to run for another year or so. So, if and when Hasbro U.K. drop the line, what on Earth are their plans for the future other than toys from the second movie?

Coming off the back of a major movie, this just isn't good enough. I'm also wondering what's going on with Animated in other parts of Europe.

There's also a lingering suspicion in the back of my mind that this is part of an attempt to resurrect Action Man.

If it's selling so bad how come my local TRU is consistently re-stocking, and has shifted so much of it Animated doesn't have enough in the store to fill an endcap now? 90% of what is clogging there is late movie stuff.

If Animated goes down here though arses need booting and heads need to roll at Hasbro UK.
If the staff of Hasbro UK can't sell a great toy line, full of great character and sculpting, backed up with a truly entertaining cartoon then they don't deserve to be in their jobs.

The cartoon needs to be on a FREE to air channel, either terrestrial or freeview digital, and actual ADVERTS for the toys need to appear S O M E W H E R E. I don't even think I saw an ad for any of the movie toys on any commercial TV channel or anywhere else for that matter.

Animated has fans among the kids in my area certainly, I know there aren't many TF collectors in my area to warrant such stock reduction in one of the two TRUs in Wales, not to mention my 3 local Tesco stores, and any Argos Extra I choose to walk in to.

If this does indeed happen then I'm importing everything from Hasbro US from now on, excepting any exclusives we'll get (yeah, like that'll ever happen again), as they actually make an effort to SELL THEIR PRODUCTS and SUPPORT THE BRAND and as such deserve my money.

Hell, it'll even save me a few quid as importing a deluxe from the US or Canada is still cheaper than buying it from any UK retail outlet, even with shipping on top.

Centuries pass, dust in the wind
I shall remain, shining in sin

I haven't even seen them in Tesco up my way and they've only just started appearing in Woolworths. the only places with a decent selection of Animated figures I've found in my neck of the woods is Toys R Us and John Lewis. How do they expect this stuff to sell if its not in the shops!

I really hope this rumour isn't true but sadly it really wouldn't surprise me.

I'm a little dubious of this information.

My 2 nearest TRU's struggle to keep the Animated Deluxes and other under £10 figures on the shelves. That was even before the recent offer.

Hasbro UK recetly announced their Animated release schedule for the remains of the year, and I think they'll stick to that for now.

I'm wondering what the definition of poor sales is?

Is it possible that the line is doing moderately well, but Hasbro U.K. expected way too much of it? The line isn't out that long in the UK... and it seems they may not even be waiting for Christmas sales to determine the success of the line.

Is there anyone who access to sales information from one of the large retailers?
I'm wondering if there's something else going on here.
